CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- A Cape Girardeau mother with a gun is being credited with stopping the attempted rape of her daughter.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 51-year-old Craig Kizer faces a variety of charges, including attempted rape, armed criminal action and burglary. He has no known address and did not have an attorney.

Police say Kizer had been working on the family's home as part of a renovation project, but was not staying there. The teen was in bed around 5:30 a.m. Sunday when Kizer came into her room with a knife and climbed on top of her.

I'm happy the rape was stopped, but it would have ended differently if it were my daughter...

When he set the knife down on the bed, the teen grabbed it and screamed.

Had this been my daughter, she would have stabbed him and then I would have shot him. My girls have been thoroughly trained that the only defense for the physically weaker person is all-out aggressive attack, using whatever weapons are available.

Not judging whether or not it would have been right to shoot him, it would probably have been more traumatic for the girl. Just sayin.

It would have been better, and justified if they killed the *ucker.

He might return after a short prison term.

Compare this to the defenseless citizens in the UK that were murdered today.

The girl's mother came into the room with a gun, pointed it at the suspect and ordered him out of the house.

... and said "Don't you do that again!" ???

Indeed, there would have been no police involvement and just another missing homeless scumbag.

And the back yard would have a nice new rosebush.

I’m going to assume this animal was part of a whole crew working at the house, because who would hire a random vagabond off the street to do some “renovating”? Even if my assumption is correct, in my personal experience, I would do whatever is necessary to require the construction company to provide me with some sort of proof that everyone they bring to my house has no criminal history (and a home address). Only a disreputable company would be hiring such people described as this animal.

I was thinking the same sort of thing. More to the point, this is the type of person who will be a repeat offender against someone at some point.

DSAF and shoot him.

Don’t assume. Remember the Elizabeth Smart situation? They hired that guy off the street because they felt sorry for him and wanted to give him a job.

I suspect that depends on the girl. In that situation, my daughter would probably prefer to have to shop for new sheets and to choose a new paint for her walls, then have the problem over. Permanently. That's far better than having to go to court, probably multiple times, then go in front of the parole board far too soon. I think my daughter would see having someone like that buried six feet under as far less traumatic than knowing that we permitted him to live and eventually to rape again. BTW, without going into detail, I will say that I know more than I would like to about violent situations.

Heck, in Colorado, you don’t even have to worry about the disposal. Cops come in, ask a few questions, paramedics pickup the body and it’s all good. We have the “make my day law”.

Killing people who need killing isn’t or shouldn’t be traumatic. We need to relearn that lesson as a species.

That would be my #1 concern - the future well-being of my daughter, not just the immediate situation.

I am not criticizing the mother for making the decision she did, but man, scum like this guy makes my blood boil.
