"Lee declined comment through a spokesman."
I wonder why? ;-)

They just want to “keep it real”.

Stung by a series of inquiries, nearly half the members of the Congressional Black Caucus want to scale back the aggressive ethics procedures that Democrats trumpeted after gaining control of Congress. Most ethical Congress in history?
Nancy Pelosi should step down in SHAME.
To: a fool in paradise
This would be laughable if it weren’t so funny.

Ethics can be a real pain in the ass to corrupt politicians. The District of Corruption is more corrupt now than during any other time in history.

Stalinists don’t care. They don’t care about ethics. They don’t care about morals. They don’t care about laws. They don’t care about hypocrisy.
Saul Alinsky taught Democrats well how to lie and push an agenda.
To: Kartographer
The CBC has it all figured out, gut the OCE and the Dems won’t have to worry about ethics violations. Pathetic!

Popinjays - or better, perhaps, a shameful minstrel show, performed by a group best named after the Chamber where they serve. (”House.”)

Isnt Congressional Black Caucus an oxymoron in the politically correct sense?

A case of wanting to speak power to truth.
To: Kartographer
C’mon folks, it’s just another facet of affirmative action.

These cats didn't learn this from Alinsky. They were well-schooled long before that over-rated dead radical purloined the material for his nasty book.
I doubt any of them had heard of Alinsky, let alone read his book, before BO. I would be surprised if any of them have yet. Why should they? They are anti-Semites, after all.
This is just plain hateful. And, we may need to dip into a more classic vocabulary to illustrate and draw attention to this kind of timeless evil.

Someone needs to post that picture of Rangel looking like a beached whale.

We don’t need no stinkin’ ethics office!

I seem to recall Nixon being given a hard time over Watergate by an Independent Counsel.
I seem to recall Reagan being given a hard time over Iran Contra by an Independent Counsel.
I seem to recall Clinton getting rid of the office of Independent Counsel around about the time that Whitewater became an issue.
Democrats love deep investigations -- but not when they're in power.

The SDS and Weather Underground partnered with Black Panthers and Black Nationalist groups back in the 1960s and 1970s.
Common blood.
To: BipolarBob
What’s the point of gaining power if you can’t use the office to get rich?
Seriously, I think this is engrained in the culture.

Stupid move by the Black Caucus....reinforces common perception that blacks once again support lower standards, but now for ethics. If the measure has merit, let some other entity propose it....

The “independent counsel” is either in vogue or out of favor depending on who’s in power.

Black caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee, D-Calif., is among the sponsors, but the full 42-member caucus did not endorse the measure.
Guess that means she has some ethic problems and needs them to go away...
