SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- It could soon cost California shoppers at the checkout aisle if they forget to bring their own bags to the grocery store.

Legislation passed Wednesday by the California Assembly would prohibit grocery stores, pharmacies, liquor stores and convenience stores from giving out plastic bags.

Maybe they can take micromanagement to a more microscopic level, but it’s going to be difficult. I trust that they will find a way.

And my first real libturd English teacher during my junior year in high school, was all in a frenzy about the coming ice age, AND the book called “The Population Bomb”. He was convinced that by 1990 or so, we would have people standing on top of other people. Which doesn’t say much for the intelligence of the so-called people underneath who would stand still waiting for someone to balance themselves on the shoulders of the person below. Liberals are so deliriously funny and exceptionally stupid...except that unfortunately we have to pay the consequences of their moronic ideas & taxes & reckless spending.

That's a good idea. What is funny is my store just got these small carts and my husband hates them he always complains
how you can’t fit anything in them we walk around and when we spot them we look at each other and laugh. I think the stores actually want you to come back every day

Yes. I can remember when I always asked for paper (back when we had a choice).

Now,I actualy prefer plastic. It also does double duty for many things including dog poop pick up.

Another manifestation of idiocy in California.

Every time I start to reach the end of my patience with living in a liberal hellhole like NYC, all I have to do is look at California, and say to myself, "there, but for the Grace of God, go I."

Thank you, God, for sparing me the fate of having to live in California, and please bless those of us afflicted with that fate.

I'm stockpiling plastic bags as we speak. What are they gonna do? Flog me in public? I can bring my own bags...

When I run out of plastic, I might switch to baby sealskin bags or maybe Spotted Owl skin...

Just saying.

“Calif. moves to ban plastic bags at grocery stores”

YES!!! All Americans have been waiting breathlessly for CA to ban plastic bags. There is no issue more important than ridding ourselves of plastic bags. Given the choice of nuclear destruction or ridding ourselves of plastic bags, 99.9999% of Americans would choose vaporization. No plastic bags will make life better for whales smothered by Dollar store plastic bags. This heroic action will save the universe and the chicago cubs. Let’s all hum “Imagine” in our best falsetto voice.

As long as we don’t get Meg Whitman. She is just another Arnold. Meg has spent over $80 million of her own fortune, for what reason? She’s well connected, but won’t disclose the early donor list. Don’t be fooled by the lies from Meg’s camp. Btw, the Howard Jarvis folks donated to Steve’s campaign recently...after endorsing Meg. Interesting, huh?

My vote is for Steve Poizner.

“have they banned paper bags?”
“How do you think they saved the rainforests? < /sarc>”

Right you are. They didn’t save one inch of the jungle. /sarc

The idea of man "owning" another creature is antiquated and barbaric, we only do it because we are stronger and uncivilized.

If we didn't have greedy things like capitalism and private property, there would be no need to worry about leaving "your" dogs poo in somone elses yard. Its when we view property as ours that we become offended should we feel someone violates what we feel is ours. So if we do away with private property, there would be nothing to take offense at.

Oh...thinking like a liberal hurts my brain. I need to take an Aleeve (before Obamacare outlaws them)

I always ask for paper bags. We can always plant more trees but we can’t plant more oil.

Liberals are stupid.
