Wow, just wow. Thank you for posting.

Anyone who can get through this video without tears running down their face doesn’t have a heart.

Very poor video quality. The screen was all blurry-I couldn’t see a thing by halfway through. I think it hurt my eyes because I had tears running down my cheeks.

Thank you for this post. A trip to the American Cemetary at Normandy is #1 on my bucket list. I hope to go next year.

My family, including my parents, were at the Grand Canyon a few years ago, and we enjoyed a nature tour with one of the rangers. My dad noticed that the man, who was an older gentleman, had an accent, and he asked him where he was from.

“I grew up in the Netherlands,” the ranger said.

“I was stationed near Arnheim during the war,” my dad replied.

The ranger stopped walking and, in a voice meant to be heard by the entire tour, said, “Sir, you are one of my heroes. As I boy, I admired the American soldiers and wanted to be like them. I thank you on behalf of all my countrymen for what you did for us.”

It was a special moment, one that meant the world to my Dad. He’s gone now, but that memory is one of my favorites.

There’s something wrong with that video. It’s all blurry.

D-day is an anniversary we must never forget. So much pain and sacrifice. Our troops were brave and tough. They were liberators. They still are.

My Dad was in WWII, but he didn’t see combat. He wanted so badly to fly, but that wasn’t in the cards. My Dad died on D-day, 4 years ago.

It’s an anniversary I can never forget.

RIP, Dad. I’ll see you again some day.

From http://scottfactor.com/

Today, 66 years ago, our brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, risking life for liberty, in a day that has come to be known as D-Day. Since I am confident that our current President isn’t capable of saying any words to commemorate this sacrifice unless he is reading it from a teleprompter, I feel compelled to post the recorded remarks of a real national leader, President Ronald Reagan.

This is a video of those remarks by President Ronald Reagan on the 40th Anniversary of D-Day, spoken on June 06, 1984 in Pointe Du Hoc, Normandy, France.

Thank you, veterans.

Just grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to visit and pay my respects to our brave American soldiers.

It will always be the most moving moment of my 50+ years on this planet.

We will never forget you!
