Elton John Performs for Rush Limbaugh Wedding
Live Street Journal ^ | 06/06/2010

I can’t stop asking myself how did Elton John, gay pop icon, ended up performing at at Rush Limbaugh’s wedding.

Anyway, the act took place in Palm Florida on Saturday night. The guests included celebrities such as Fred Thompson, Sean Hannity, Bush adviser Karl Rove, golfer Tom Watson and Rudolph Giuliani. Did i forget to mention it was a 400 guests wedding?

Limbaugh and Rogers met six years ago at a charity golf tournament. There is a 20 years difference between the two but that doesn’t seem to be a problem for them. Kathryn Rogers said she is “sometimes not able to relate to the average person my age.”

I’m guessing Elton John couldn’t help it and went for the million bucks. That is the reported $1 million payday for Elton John. But still , having a gay guy performing at your wedding is a bit ..awkward.

A long, healthy, loving and happy life is all that I wish for Rush and his new bride.

As for Elton John, he’s a flaming in your face faggot. I wouldn’t have picked him, but as much as I don’t like the guy because of his fagness, he is a good entertainer.

If figure it’s the couples choice.... heck, for all any of us know, there was an Elton John tune playing the moment these two realized that they were in love.

My wife of 38 wonderful years would likely pick “Chicago”... I hate “Chicago”. However, our song is “Color My World”, a song we sing to each other every single anniversary.

If I were to learn that they were a gay band, nothing would change...., well, I’d just make jokes about it. ;>) I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t make me gay and start wearing my brides clothes. Right? Heck, I already have an iMac and so far I still like girls.

Best to Rush and his bride.

“There aren’t any conservative singers that could have performed?”

Maybe the newlyweds aren’t country music fans?

I’d like to see the family tree diagram. Can’t help but be suspicious of her. Nobody is good enough for Rush.

I am a fan of Rush Limbaugh and have listened to him for 16 years. He has said that he thinks of his audience as a part of his family, some family we are, he just said he was taking off until the 15th of the month and getting a puppy.

Now he is married to No.4 wife and he couldn't even tell his audience.

What an expensive extravaganzic spectacle his fourth wedding must have been. My Mom is an avid loyal listener and has been listening to Rush since 1984 (his early days in Sacramento, CA) and said when she found out he got himself hitched again, "what an idiot".

Well despite my Mom's attitude, we both wish him great happiness, joy and forever love, and just don't let the new puppy get the best of Pumpkin.

You know that $1 million will probably be used for left wing causes. Look, noone is worth a million to be a wedding singer for a few hours.

Rush screwed up on this one.

"Seems to me the overall objection to Elton is simply because he’s gay."

Of course it is! If it weren't so pathetic to watch, it would almost be funny.

I am not even much of a Rush fan, but as MollyKuehl pointed out, it's his money and his wedding, not ours.

Besides which, who was the first POTUS to ever invite a gay couple to stay at the White House? RONALD REAGAN! And that was thirty years ago! But Ronny probably wasn't "Conservative" enough for this crew, because Ronny opposed the Briggs Initiative and was also the first divorced POTUS. Ahhhhhhhhh, shame! ;)

Now be careful before "danamco" accuses you of bashing Reagan for stating the facts. He will then throw a fit and call upon Thor to strike us down. He will also complain to Jim Robinson as he did here . It doesn't get more desperate than a whiny metro sexual lacking arguments and parading around as a conservative.

As I pointed out on another thread, Rush chose Elton as Liza Minnelli was unavailable due to yet another vacation at Betty Ford.

It's no "bash of Reagan" to state the facts of his life. The man spent decades in Hollywood and formed friendships there. He didn't live under a rock.

And RR was more concerned about our freedoms and fairness than politicizing some puritanical social agenda, however he felt personally about those issues. RR had some bigger issues to worry about, like bringing down the Soviet Union.

Evidently you didn’t hear about Rush and John emailing each other for quite some time. It all started when Rush had his heart attack, and John happened to be staying at the same hotel. John was genuinely concerned about Rush, and asked the hotel about Rush’s condition.

Since then, Rush and John have been emailing on a regular basis.

As for being a “Christian” .. even Jesus sat down with theives to eat a meal.

Besides, I doubt you give a rip about Rush’s priorities or spiritual state.

That is the first time I have heard that. Where did you hear or see that reported? That would explain a lot.

As for being a “Christian” .. even Jesus sat down with theives to eat a meal.

He mostly certainly didn't pay wicked people, let alone, large sums of money.

I heard Mark Levin telling about it on his program a few days ago. I know that Mark is a very good friend to Rush, and I knew that Mark had attended the weeding. Mark went into a lot of detail about how Rush ended up asking John to sing at his wedding.

Well .. The very fact that Jesus even went into the home of a person of shady character was cause for scorn. It was a very different time then.

I have worked with homosexual people - some I liked and some I disliked. Jesus doesn’t ask us to be hateful to people (no matter what they believe) .. instead we just need to be ourselves. John already knew Rush’s opinions about the world, so I believe it was God throwing out a rope and maybe Rush was going to be the person to reel John in.

I think you’re expecting purity .. and God never ask us to expect that of OTHERS .. only ourselves. Instead God told us to be able to “discern” evil in others so we would not be caught in their trap. In fact, I believe Jesus said, “Do good to them that spitefully use you”.

No, I am just asking Rush to stand up for absolute truth and basic right and wrong. That he believes, apparently, homosexuality is biological and rejects the Bible on the topic, I question if he has lost his way.

Well .. if he has .. it’s Rush’s choice. The greatest gift God gave to MAN (humans), was the ability to choose.

I just can’t help but feel you’re taking this too personal. You can’t force other people to conform to your principles. Everybody gets to choose what path they want to follow. If Rush doesn’t follow YOUR path .. then he’s somehow “lost his way” ..??

It’s also presumptious of you to take for granted that “apparently, homosexuality is biological ...” - how do you know that ..?? or how on earth do you know what Rush thinks like that ..??
