Elton John Performs for Rush Limbaugh Wedding
Live Street Journal ^ | 06/06/2010

I can’t stop asking myself how did Elton John, gay pop icon, ended up performing at at Rush Limbaugh’s wedding.

Anyway, the act took place in Palm Florida on Saturday night. The guests included celebrities such as Fred Thompson, Sean Hannity, Bush adviser Karl Rove, golfer Tom Watson and Rudolph Giuliani. Did i forget to mention it was a 400 guests wedding?

Limbaugh and Rogers met six years ago at a charity golf tournament. There is a 20 years difference between the two but that doesn’t seem to be a problem for them. Kathryn Rogers said she is “sometimes not able to relate to the average person my age.”

I’m guessing Elton John couldn’t help it and went for the million bucks. That is the reported $1 million payday for Elton John. But still , having a gay guy performing at your wedding is a bit ..awkward.

I know now he is not as smart as I thought he was. Its good to know after all these years. I really did think he was very conservative now I know he is not my kind of conservative.
Goodbye Rush

For a million dollars, Elton John would probably even have sex with a woman.

Had backstage passes and 18th row seats at the Elton/Billy Joel concert when they played at the Honda Center March 2009! Great concert.

I doubt anyone requested his little-played “The Goaldigger’s Song” at the affair...

I also hope that she is not another gold digger with LIBERAL tendencies.

Hehehehe. That one got me to but of course James was tagging along with Mary Matalin. It would be and interesting question to ask Rush when he gets back. “How did the conversation go between you and Carville?”

Not me!

There are plenty of STRAIGHT MEN, DRUG FREE and CONSERVATIVE MEN available to do what Elton John did.

I agree, Id like EJ to sing at my wedding.
I don’t remember him being outspoken with extreme liberal beliefs.
Except for the wanting the right to marry which is logical.

I think it is cool of Rush to hire him and cool of Elton to accept

I hope that isn't the case.

BTW, his new wife is a descendant of John Adams.

I have no problem interacting with homosexuals on a personal basis and welcome them to the public square as individuals and citizens enjoying the full rights and privileges of the same. Most families, including mine, have homosexual members, or at least ones practicing a homosexual lifestyle.

My objection is to the homosexual political agenda which establishes homosexuals as a protected group, entitled to certain privileges and benefits denied to other members of society and allows self proclaimed leaders of this group to present their views on behalf of the whole. What they choose to do in their bedrooms is no business of mine, but when they want to benefit from the largess of government at my expense, I will do what I can to stop them.

I like Elton John’s music, his fashion sense not so much.

As hard a time as Rush and Carville give each other, rumor has it that they are actually good friends (which may be because Rush is so close to Mary Matalin).

I hope Rush can find real marital happiness this time, which, at 59, is probably his last chance. Having stridently liberal, proudly gay singer Elton John perform at the wedding can be looked at two ways.

As Rush being hypocritical just to have a Big Name perform (for a Big Fee) at his wedding (because Rush can afford the cost) or as Rush being tolerant and open-minded, hiring Elton John for his talent and entertainment value and ignoring his left wing views, which, frankly are mostly irrelevant. I opt to believe the latter.
