Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, long the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of a U.S. teen in Aruba, has confessed to killing a young Peruvian woman in his Lima hotel room, a police spokesman said.

Peru's chief police spokesman, Col. Abel Gamarra, told The Associated Press that Van der Sloot admitted under police questioning Monday that he killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores on May 30.

I get the sense that this trust-fund globe-trotting little punk might be responsible for more than we know.

“Van der Sloot admitted under police questioning Monday”

I’m gonna make a wild guess here that Peruvian police questioning is a little more robust than Aruban/Dutch police questioning. Funny how cooperative someone can be when the rules change. Methinks there will be additional confessions coming from Van der Sloot in order to obtain a life sentence in Europe. Maybe we will find out what happened in Aruba.

yup.

I would also bet that Peruvian Prisons are right up there with their Turkish ones, as far as that down home feeling goes.

On Fox news, they said a conviction for murder would most likely result in a 6 year sentence.

Somehow having Juran spend the rest of his days in a PIIYA Peruvian prison as some guy’s bitch seems like a just punishment.

My wife’s comment: 1) he confessed, which reduces the sentence, and 2) he killed her in a rage, which is 2nd degree murder instead of premeditated, which also reduces the sentence.

If Peruvian methods are similar to those in Argentina I suspect electrodes to the gonads may have been threatened if not actually applied. The spirit of Torquemada remains in all hispanic countries.

Did they remember to read him his miranda rights first? Will Hollyweird stand up for him as they do Roman Polanski?

He may have a good movie in his head, who knows?

He stole her car. He fled the country!

Do you think her father will be waiting at the Jailhouse gate when he is set free?

Wonder how much he'll make on his book deal? Where's OJ's lawyers?

Boy is this gonna fill a few news cycles!
