Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL): Andrea we’re looking into something new right now, that there’s reports of oil that’s seeping up from the seabed… which would indicate, if that’s true, that the well casing itself is actually pierced… underneath the seabed. So, you know, the problems could be just enormous with what we’re facing.

You too just removed all doubt.

What is wrong with this Website? All of a sudden, people who know the least are the loudest.

Time to get 20 rigs drilling in that area NOW! Start sucking it dry.

They have been talking about this possibility from early on over at the oil drum, basically the well casing integrity would have to fail in some way and they were concerned about that. That is one reason I think they have not been more aggressive with this well.

You know that saying about opening your mouth and removing all doubt?

You seem to have quite a bit of experience in that area.

Time to break out the nuke.>>>>>

I said that 7 days after the gusher started. If this oil paints the Gulf black via a hurricane.....Everyone is going to wish we had nuked it.

I believe the reports of vast lakes of BP’s oil trapped underwater for the time being http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,699382-3,00.html

Do you realize they used it several times, it didn’t always work and they quit this method decades ago for a good reason.

I was kinda afraid something like this would happen. the other possibility being oil leaking up through fizzures in the seabed that when they started flowing there would virtually be no way to contain it. Barry, you have no one to kick but yourself. Hope you’re happy.

I would prefer that we study this a bit, first.
A nuke is the last, largest solution and it might not be a solution at all.

No reason to take it off the table, but no reason to make an even bigger mistake, either.

My thoughts exactly.

When I noted the “D”, I immediately put on my skeptical hat. The liberals are on full frontal assault with these “The sky is falling!, the sky is falling!” tactics. It’s a diversion. Must take the focus away from Obama’s ineptitude. Encourage the herd to freak out about global warming, environmental impact, corrupt corporate “blood for oil” criminals.

How would that happen?

It could happen anywhere in the well where maximum structural pressure was exceeded, causing a rupture.
