The last stand of the 'birther queen'?
LA Times ^ | 6/9/2010 | Paul Thornton

Posted on 06/09/2010 1:57:17 PM PDT by markomalley

Politico.com raised a stink Tuesday over the possibility that "birther queen" Orly Taitz may win the GOP primary for secretary of state and put California Republicans in the embarrassing position of having a thoroughly discredited conspiracy theorist on their November ticket. The piece contained little evidence (perhaps because there isn't much) but leaned almost exclusively of the kind of why-not speculation popular in American punditry. Here's an excerpt:

California Republicans optimistic about their prospects in November could find themselves with a bit of a problem after the votes are counted in Tuesday’s primaries -- a statewide ticket with the so-called “Birther Queen” as one of their candidates.

Orly Taitz is an Israeli émigré who has spent the last two years filing lawsuits challenging President Barack Obama’s right to be president on the grounds that he was born in Kenya. In the process, she has earned herself $20,000 in court fines.

Now she’s running for the GOP nomination for secretary of state, and with her establishment-backed primary opponent mounting a less-than-stellar campaign against her, operatives say there’s a chance she could win.

I don’t know why the LAT is posting this, when Dunne won the GOP nomination. I saw him speak at the Conservative Forum in Mountain View a little over a week ago - a VERY impressive, pro-business young man.

Remember, I can only post an excerpt (FR posting rules). They said she lost at the bottom of the page (after taking ample opportunity for a dig)

Hmmm. Seems to me that with 74.3 percent of the vote going to Damon Dunn and 25.7 percent to Orly Taitz, I’d suggest that this article of full of chit (perhaps someone should actually check the election results before putting pen to paper and making themselves look really really stupid). Or, perhaps Paul Thornton is use to looking stupid!!!

From the end of the article, And the results? Damon Dunn, the former pro football player whose campaign Politico deemed "less-than-stellar," easily sent Taitz back to her dentistry practice in Orange County, besting her by a 3-1 margin.

Too bad Orly lost the primary. If there were a completely appropriate place for a Birther candidate, it would be California’s Secretary of State. That office is responsible for running honest elections of properly-vetted candidates. There is certainly no issue concerning Obama’s long-form birth certificate, school records, voting records, and other details of his past history that have been “thoroughly discredited,” no matter how many times the MSM repeat the lie.

Seeing as how the initial point of this idiots article is the one people will long remember, it matters not that he points out her loss at the close to his diatribe.

I don’t know why the LAT is posting this, when Dunne won the GOP nomination.

It could be because Orly ( without any backing and almost no money) won more than 25% of the vote or about 379,000 votes. (This was reported by another Freeper. I haven't seen a reputable source for these numbers. )

Personally,( if true), I find that **amazing** that she would get that many votes. It means that about 379,000 people in California are totally ticked at how Obama's eligibility has been handled. It could be more, since some birthers many have voted for her opponent for other reasons than the birhter issue. This is definitely a **significant** number!

There is NO possible way that Obama's natural born status can be painted as being "fringe".

thoroughly discredited conspiracy

Just because obama has shelled out mucho denaro to hide the birth certificate and others refuse to even look into this matter doesn't mean it has been "thoroughly discredited".
