Democratic campaign strategist and liberal pundit James Carville has become a bit of a favorite person on the right for his repeated criticisms of the Obama administrations handling of the BP oil spill. Online, not too many of his ideological fellows seem to have joined the "ragin' Cajun" in criticizing the president, however.
There are those that sympathize with Carville, particularly in light of his ties to the Gulf Coast area. He is freaking out seeing what is happening to his home. I cut him a break. I think Id feel the same way if I was on the front lines of this, said commenter eilen at democraticunderground.com. On the same site user TeaBagsAreForCups supported the criticism being made by Carville, saying, This is a one term Presidency if they fail to listen to their friends, like Carville.
Some even agree with the opinions expressed by Carville. This catastrophe has become Obamas Katrina because of his initial industry-friendly but unwise policy decision to back expanded offshore drilling, asserted user Bragi in a democraticunderground.com forum. Given BPs feeble credibility, the Obama administration does not need to keep trusting BPs management to handle the crisis, argued the authors of a thinkprogress.org article.
While a few are willing to defend Carville and his opinions, it seems as though more are eager to chastise him for his criticism.

James is a Louisianian, and he knows how bad this is. He’s seen it first hand. I have never agreed with anything James has ever said...until this happened.
Hear, hear, Mr. Carville, kick his ass!
Am I wrong or has 0bama NOT yet declared the Gulf waters a Federal Disaster Area?
BS. Carville waited himself til it couldn’t be ignored anymore. THE PEOPLE COULD SEE THE OIL...THAT’S THE ONLY REASON HE WAS RAGIN..
Sounds like he is priming the pump for Hillary to run in ‘12.
“priming the pump for Hillary”
When I first read the above my brain read PIMPING.
Even serpenthead must learn:
Rule 1. Thou shalt not speak ill of the One.
Rule 2. There is no rule 2.
Obviously eilen doesn't live in Arizona either.
Precisely.
OMG, NO. I’m sick of the Clintons and the Bushes.
I guess your own philosophy takes a back seat when it affects you personally. I never thought for one moment in my life that I would agree with Carville BUT even a blind pig finds an acorn now and again.
That's how he found Mary Maitlin.
Does it mean anything that I read the first sentence as:
Demonic campaign strategist and liberal pundit James Carville....
I never thought I would agree with him either. But when I saw him down there in the marshes where the real damage is, that man came back PISSED OFF AND LOOKING FOR ASS TO KICK! Please excuse me for my presidential language, but this man Carville had been rocked to the very core of his being, and you could clearly see it, much unlike the man that Mr. Carville helped elect.
Am I wrong or has 0bama NOT yet declared the Gulf waters a Federal Disaster Area?
He can’t for two reasons, 1, if he does he has to give money to a RED state and 2. he just gave the last 400M to Gaza/Hamas/Palistine
