Alvin Greene , the surprise South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, was kicked out of the Army last year and is facing a pending felony charge, according to court records obtained by ABC News.

Greene, who has yet to enter a plea or be indicted, was arrested in November and charged with "disseminating, procurring or promoting obsenity" in Richland County, S.C., near the University of South Carolina. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

Earlier today, the 32-year-old military veteran told ABC News that he has been unemployed and living in his rural hometown 60 miles south of Columbia since August, when he was involuntarily forced out of the Army after a 13 year career because "things just weren't working… it was hard to say."

Well, after watching the video of him, I'd say he's a Certified Dumb Ass that got caught up in something way, way over his head.

But, on the other hand, he acts like a typical democrat...so...

In one of the last elections in Texas when the Democrats still ruled the state, they ran an UNOPPOSED candidate for the Texas Supreme Court (with the same last name as a RAT senator). Only this Yarborough nobody bothered to vet (or the RATS did not care). Turned out he was indicted for murder and would probably not be able to serve. (Before Toricelli) The RATs had to mount a write-in movement against their own party’s nominee. The write-in effort failed. Their candidate won the seat on the Supreme Court, was convicted of murder and went to jail. Not long after that Texas went REPUB.

How did this guy get any votes, let alone win the Democrat primary?

I don't think the Democrat electorate knew much about either candidate, but Greene is black and a veteran, and those are two very large blocs in SC.

“How did this guy get any votes, let alone win the Democrat primary?”

The same way another completely unqualified person won the presidency. Blacks voting as a solid block and white’s suffering from “white guilt”.

The scramble to “fix” this problem should be something to see.

when he was involuntarily forced out of the Army after a 13 year career because "things just weren't working… it was hard to say."

I can just picture Alvin's company commander sitting him down in his office, getting him a cup of coffee, small talk before averting his eyes and saying, "Alvin, I'm sorry to have to do this but we're just going to have to let you go."

The Dems crossover votes helped J.S. McCain win in the Republican primaries. So did now the Republicans crossover and vote for a loser in the Democrats primary?

Don’t overlook idiot liberals voting for the “Green” candidate.

Back in the 1970s, two LaRouche supporters shocked the Dems and won the Democrat primary for Cook County (Chicago) council seats.

The media was stunned. I said “look at the names. One was named ‘Hart’ and the other was named ‘Fairchild’. Well, if you’re a typical bleeding heart liberal idiot, those are the sort of names you vote for because you think they are bleeding heart liberal idiots too.”

So, don’t discount the man’s last name as part of his reason for victory.

Article says he was a Supply Sergeant. That indicates an MOS of 92Y(20 or 30).

That’s what I was before I got my “involuntary honorable discharge”...after 13 years of service...eleven years ago.

(I got mine for being unable to run two miles in the specified time— 17 min 35 sec, IIRC. Other than that, in more than a few opinions, I was VERY capable of performing my duties.)
