Last week's jobs report tanked the stock market; the president took weeks to assert control of the oil spill that threatens doom on the Gulf Coast -- but at the White House the Gatsby-like parties roll on as if happy days were here again.

Just yesterday, President Obama held another fun-filled White House event, a picnic for Congress members, complete with hot dogs, cold beverages and a fire pit.

All told, during the last seven weeks of spewing oil and rampant unemployment, he has frolicked and danced through three major White House music parties:

that he was put in place to be a stooge fall-guy

for when he succeeds in crashing the Republic down around everyone’s ears as he was assigned to do.

So, he’s partying while he can . . . realizing that hell has no parties.

According to Laura Bush the first family gets a weekly bill for meals. Obama has figured out how to party for the PEOPLE and remove that little bill from his cash flow.

• West Bank and Gaza: $665 million in bilateral economic, humanitarian, and security assistance for the West Bank and Gaza

• Jordan: $250 million, $250 million above the request, including $100 million for economic and $150 million for security assistance

• Egypt: $360 million, $310 million above the request, including $50 million for economic assistance, $50 million for border security, and $260 million for security assistance

• Pakistan: $1.9 billion, $591 million above the request

• Iraq: $968 million, $336 million above the request

• Oversight: $20 million, $13 million above the request, to expand oversight capacity of the State Department, USAID, and the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan to review programs in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq

• Lebanon: $74 million

• International Food Assistance: $500 million, $200 million above the request, for PL 480 international food assistance to alleviate suffering during the global economic crisis

• Refugee Assistance: $343 million, $50 million above the request, …including humanitarian assistance for Gaza. Funding for the UN Relief and Works Agency programs in the West Bank and Gaza is limited to $119 million (Note: Gaza = Hamas)

• Disaster Assistance: $200 million to avert famines and provide life-saving assistance during natural disasters and for internally displaced people around the world, including Somalia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, the Middle East and South Asia

• Peacekeeping: $837 million for United Nations peacekeeping operations, including an expanded mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a new mission in Chad and the Central African Republic

• Department of Justice: $17 million, matching the request, for counter-terrorism activities and to provide training and assistance for the Iraqi criminal justice system

Last weekend, Vice President Joe Biden and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel held a "super soaker" squirt-gun party at the veep's residence. Everybody ran around giggling and shooting squirt guns at each other. Members of the press covering Biden joined in, to their shame.

Wow.

The media also didn’t comment on his pronouncement early on in this catastrophe on his 1st trip to N.O. (long before the oil ever came near shore) when he said that it distrubed him to see “birds flying around with oil all over them.”

1. There were no oil soaked birds at that time. The oil wasn’t even on the surface yet.

2. Birds don’t “fly around with oil all over them”. They are crippled & grounded after they are soaked.

This month the Conde Nast Traveler has a cover story on “Michelle Obama’s Washington”. They actually take time away from this multi-page Michelle puff piece to trash the Bushes exactly like you said, “They’re in bed by 9:30” and “...being from Texas, they would never go to the trendy restaurants the Obamas love in D.C.’s colorful gay neighborhood”. It was stunning.
