No one seriously believes the new round of sanctions against Iran, which the UN Security Council im posed Wednesday, will halt the mullahs' mad quest for nukes.
A more pressing question: How much harm will they do to US interests?
The sanctions are aimed at "heavy" weapons and financial transactions, particularly those linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which oversees Iran's nuke program.
President Obama called them "the toughest sanctions ever faced by the Iranian government."
Yet even the prez -- after wasting a year and a half on futile talks with Iran -- concedes the sanctions' limited value.
"We know the Iranian government won't change its behavior overnight," Obama said. Rather, he hopes that the UN move will create "growing costs" for Tehran.
Think the mullahs are impressed? Ha!
Sanctions have never persuaded any country set on getting nukes to change course -- and Iran has no intention of being the first.

Not gonna comment on Moosechelle’s posture - it would have to do with evolution, and that would be wrong.
Is she wearing house slippers ?
Awww Geez, anything but pictures.
It’s all in the wrist ;)
But sir, that would leave you free to comment on Obama's limp wristedness! lol
PLEASE. Next time give a Vomit Warning.
I don’t pay much attention to what Obama say’s. Most of the time he is lying, and the rest of the time he doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about anyway.
I think everyone in the world at this point realizes that Obama desires to be “Monica” to A-jad’s “Bill”.
