Mayor Accused of Racism After Tossing Bottlecap Near Black City Councilman (video)

HUNTSVILLE, AL -- Mayor Tommy Battle, acting in frustration with councilman Richard Showers, threw a plastic bottlecap into the dais at the end of Thursday's city council meeting.

A member of the audience, the Rev. Mitchell Walker of Church Street CPCA, later that night sent a strongly worded email to Battle, as well as dozens of church and community leaders. Walker demanded an apology.

"Well, I can just say for me," wrote Walker, "to see an elected authoritative Caucasian male mayor totally lose his cool and have the utter gall to throw something at or near a senior African American male Councilman ... I'm just speaking for me ... very much carries 'racial' overtones."

I think the accuser is confused. He has Martian-Americans confused with Caucasian-Americans.

Everybody knows that Martian-Americans have more claims as victims, and hence more rights than African-Americans so everything was perfectly politically correct.

I'm not sure where Whiner-Americans fit into this whole discussion, though.

If a white person tosses a bottlecap toward a black person and the result is a strongly worded letter from a black saying the “caucasian” had the “audacity” to toss something near an African American ....

Now you tell me if this could happen in a society which allows racism against blacks? Or against whites?

Rev. Mitchell Walker sounds like just another black religious poser to me just like all these “reverends”: Sharpton, Jackson, Wright who cloak their racism with religion and call it “social justice”.

Strictly anecdotal. I work part-time at a local Wal-Mart. In the past couple of weeks, I've noticed an increase in touchiness, if you will, in our AA customers. One woman went off simply because one of the white associates tapped her on the shoulder thinking she was someone he knew (she claimed he punched her). The associate ended up losing his job. This, and general surliness in other situations where none should exist has me thinking either a) this is being done on purpose, or b) that AA supporters of Obama are getting upset over the (deserved) criticism he is receiving for the BP mess and are acting out as a result.
