Obama to Tea Partiers: See! The Gulf Disaster is What Smaller Government Will Get You
Michelle Malkin ^ | 12 June 2010 | Doug Powers

When you’re stuck in quicksand — or even a vat of thick oil for that matter — the first pointer in the survival manual is not to flail. President Obama hasn’t read that manual:

The president also implied that anti-big government types such as tea party activists were being hypocritical on the issue.

“Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying ‘do something’ are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much,” Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.” Is the president saying that he didn’t react quickly because he was trying to placate Tea Party activists, thus blaming them for the slow response? Obama almost makes it sound like he let the Gulf die to make a point against those who are for smaller, more responsible government, doesn’t he?

interesting twist on his words. Is he saying government can’t do things effecitvely because of this poor response. How can we trust the government with our own health as the other 300,000,000 people when they cannot effectively coordinate on a single problem like this.

“Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem..."

Time for another party. Frickin' idiot.

Smaller groups are easier to organize and get things done. Fewer agencies will not get in each others way and slow progress. A smaller group will know where the 2 miles of boom are hidden away and be able to tell that the fire boom they were supposed to have was not ordered.

Wrong Obama...nice try but your spin is childish.

I’ve said this before: If big brother wasn’t constantly wasting time and money on things that aren’t its job, it would have time and money for things that art its job.

Dear leader, small government is small because it’s focused on doing the only jobs required of government.

Good grief, next thing he’ll claim that the dog ate his master gulf clean up plan.

Words fail. He’s truly a stupid, destructive POS.

Our ship of state is rudderless and will remain so until 2012.

Does he not understand how childish it sounds for him not to own up to his own failings? America is really getting sick of watching his antics with this.

Obama’s belief that government is the answer to every question and problem has been proven false by the oil leak. What he really wants to say is that if we just shut up and gave the government more power they could legislate perfection into existence.

Idiotic. And only Obama’s idiot drones will buy it.

Unlike Katrina or any of the dozens of other natural disasters that have hit the United States in the past few decades where the primary response is initially at the local and state level, an oil spill is specifically assigned to the Federal Government and to the office of the Pres__ent ...

When us “racist redneck teabaggers” say we want a smaller government, we mean one that performs in accordance with and is constrained by the Constitution. The government does have a role, and I personally don’t think it is too much to ask that the government perform that role and its basic functions, like securing the border, halting invasions, and responding to national issues.

So, Obama, you snide arrogant asshole, what we want is for leaders to know their duties and carry them out ... which is obviously too much to ask from a snot-nosed Chicago thug such as yourself.

HIS administration is responsible for this. BP had to clear everything they did with the executive branch, because of where the rig is located.

I used to think Obama was a spoiled adolescent. Now, I'm not so sure. That may be giving him too much credit.

Hmmm, sort of like small government caused the Chernobyl "issue", eh?

Also, I had no idea that the gulf oil exploration was unregulated. Oh, wait...
