Fiorina - WHO I DON’T TRUST - is sticking with her pro-life primary stands, so far.

If by pragmatic, you mean turning into a pale imitation of your opposition, then neither alternative is acceptable.

That's not what Governor Palin is doing, however.
She is both working within the confines of the political system & maintaining grassroots support. To say that she is somehow co-opting the liberal agenda is absurd.

the real task if you have governing principles that will work is to educate people about them, not to give in to their ignorance

Sarah Palin: The middle will move to us

Gee, doesn't sound like someone who will water down her principles to me.

She’ll have to tow the same old OP(formerly the GOP) party line if she has aspirations of becoming President in 2012. That doesn’t bode well for Conservatives.

The donation to Graham was her paying him back for starting up her PAC.

What if the middle don’t move? How do you support that position when you support McCain? Is he the middle?

Although the thread is about Palin, I wasn't answering USFRIEND's question with respect to her, but in the abstract.

As far as Sarah goes specifically, while I was [very] disappointed to see her endorsement of McShame, I wrote it off to the unique situation she has wrt him and am not holding it against her, waiting to see what else she does.

Hate your real enemies, worship the Lord and be pragmatic toward your fellow travelers.

Know the difference and no-one will be disappointed.

Why would Linseed support a staunch conservative like Palin. He is a closet democrat.

Something rather smelly about that.

McCain is irrelevant in the bigger picture.
Governor Palin rejects the false premise that the GOP needs to move to the middle to win. Her conservatism will stand on its own and will move the middle to the right if and when she begins her presidential run.

They will supoport whoever earned it in their eyes, whoevers turn it is.

She hasn’t earned it yet.

If they support her, I will worry.

The other 3 stink. Daniels has not earned it. But...he is also a good little RINO.

Winning is what counts. If you can’t win because you don’t have a viable candidate you have to go with the best you have.

But way to keep attacking Palin. We wouldn’t want to spend time attacking the leftists.

“But rabs...what other RINOs have Palin endorsed?”

I hate to tell ya Podnuh, but you are talking to the wall. Make notes as you tour the forums and see that rabs, doughty, pissant, stephensomething or other and others to a lesser extent spend more time being paranoid about RINOs and trashing Palin than they do criticizing the left-wing socialist(s) in the White House and Congress. I don’t know about you, but I find that kind of kookie; as in warped priorities.

Rest assured though, their balderdash shall not go unchallenged, every time they stick their heads up.

Note that they don’t have the nads to define who their potential leader of the conservative movement may be, just lob grenades over the wall is their mantra.

Nobody has to define who the leader of the conservative movement is.

If they did, they would not pick McCain supporters.

Concerning the comment you highlighted...

If people don’t want to be badmouthed, they should alter their behavior.

They shouldn’t think they can come on the forum and act like an ass, and that others should then act as if they haven’t been, by affording them respect.

If I mention someone’s name, I’ll address them directly or ping them.

If I just address the behavior, tough luck.

Don’t set your behavior up to be ridiculed, and you won’t be disappointed.

“. Carly is not a RINO because she has no prior experience in office. “

Well, at least that is a NEW excuse! LOL!

Honest to God, the pretzel logic of some people.

Any Republican can be a Republican In Name Only. It’s just more dangerous when they are elected to public office.

Unfortunately, there are those at FR who hate Sarah Palin - with whom they disagree on two or three endorsements - more than they hate Barack Obama.
