Eight weeks into the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of the Mexico, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has told the National Guard that there's no time left to wait for BP, so they're taking matters into their own hands.
In Fort Jackson, La., Jindal has ordered the Guard to start building barrier walls right in the middle of the ocean. The barriers, built nine miles off shore, are intended to keep the oil from reaching the coast by filling the gaps between barrier islands.

It must be tough trying to support those who will never make it to the big leagues.
Always laugh at your attempts to snark at Sarah Palin.
You are a hoot. LOL
Neither has she, oh wait, she resigned.
Jindal is doing what he damn well knew needed doing at LEAST two weeks ago.
So now we know how long it takes to grow a pair...
I’ve tried to access their site for news, but it crawls and then locks up. You’d think a *.mil site would load as fast as greased lightning.
Of course you know that it was Pres. Bush that had to call the Dem governor of LA and tell her to get her people out of there. This was the Fri before the hurricane. She took no action. And she took no action after the hurricane. Pres. Bush had to have a talk with her when he went down there.
You forget, there were many of us watching each step of the Katrina disaster. Lies about Bush will not fly around here. We know who was responsible and we know it was not Bush. It was the ineffective democrat leaders that want your tax money - but will not release that money to save mere citizens. They have to have your tax dollars for Dem. purposes - not taking care of the taxpayers.
Annnnnd there it is. We’re nuts, huh?
Good for the LA Gov. Because that snow cone, partying douche bag in DC isn’t going to do a thing. He hasn’t gotten his opinion poll numbers yet to tell him what to do.
No, your behavior makes it look like Sarah is an arrogant azzhole holier than thou buttinski. But, we know that it was you thinking that not her.
Yes, don’t do yourself a favor a lump all the Palin fans in with you. Some are okay.
Good for Bobby.
I hope he and the other Gulf Coast governors (all red states) have figured out that zero is working in earnest to destroy the economies of all red states. His objective is to impoverish the right.
Look what he and his cronies in the media did to Toyota, which is largely non-union and largely located in TN, another red state. Look how he’s assaulting AZ. Same story.
The other day Jesse Jackasson said that people (you know they’re all white) who own mom & pop BP gas stations should have to share the cost of the clean-up, even if it means they lose their businesses. That should give anyone a lot of insight into the mentality of many black Americans, especially those with power. We see it over and over again.
zero and his thugs want to mug BP. They want BP to fork the money over to the government, not directly to the businesses and others who have lost or will lose their businesses. They want to control the money and siphon off a big chunk for the rats, their cronies and themselves, as usual. Screw those conservative business owners on the Gulf.
“Better late than never.. He should send the bill to our Dear Leader..”
I thought that this particular problem was settled at the beginning of the month. Jindal seemed satisfied at the time.

This is a repeat of AZ and immigration.
I don’t know who’s going to - or should - recieve the bill for construction of a wall to prevent the inundation of society erecting such by globs of goop from the other side due to the failure of some non-union shop.
Obviously one is wholly racist and the other position is something I can’t figure out. That being said: I believe the other will be on the short end of the stick.
Who gave them mandate to display the audacity of initiative in totatal contrary to the platitudes - that is mantra - of dear leader’s hope and change?
Yes, this is exactly like what's going on in AZ with illegal immigration.
The majority of the people of New Orleans with common sense and the wherewithal to do so, fortunately about 80% of the population, evacuated without being told to do so. My family was among that number. If the city and its surrounding parishes had not been so successfully emptied, the death toll would have been catastrophic. As it was, about 1600 in Louisiana lost their lives due to the storm.
Are you kidding...? Congress already appropriated those funds for more important things, - like census workers.
Better late than never.

Spot on! He should have done this weeks ago.
