In Oregon, a firearms purchase made through a dealer requires the approval of the Oregon State Police.

Lesson for all in Oregon to take from this:

Never buy a firearm through a dealer in Oregon. Cross the state line to purchase or purchase used firearms from a private owner.

Also get involved in state politics and combat all politicians that are anti-gun. Get out and support pro-gun politicians. This means financially, with your feet and with your pen.

We no longer have the luxury of sitting on the sidelines we need to get down and dirty with the people that want to take away our rights.

You CAN'T buy a firearm from an FFL not in your home state (or, you can but they have to ship to an FFL in your state for a 4473 transfer), nor are you supposed to buy from private parties interstate. The other part of your advice is good, buy from individuals in Oregon.

A trick the local libs use is being pro-gun and pro-military. Gets them in office. Don't think the locals would stand for an anti-gun candidate. Currently "represented" by Peter DeFazio.
