Snip- The oil giant brought its top brass, and even came armed with a top Clinton administration Justice Department official, Jamie Gorelick, whose name was floated as a possible attorney general pick for Obama. The White House side of the conference table in the Roosevelt Room was stacked: Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, five Cabinet secretaries, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, Attorney General Eric Holder and top presidential advisors. Both sides had their lawyers on hand.

Obama was scheduled to spend 20 minutes in the meeting. He entered the room with an entourage: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and her coordinator for claims oversight, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Commerce Secrertary Gary Locke, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, and senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

There is no way that Kenneth Feinberg, Obama’s Pay Czar, is an independent third party to monitor the $20 billion escrow account. He answers to no one but Obama.

Call your Congress man or woman....don’t let this stand.

I couldn't figure out why Gorelick is in the mix. I think it came to me.

Gorelick was on the Fannie Board. As strange as it may seem Fannie Mae now OWNS the patent for carbon trading on the CCX. BP is also heavily involved in the CCX and has doled out millions (many millions) for green energy.

So now the green energy activists at BP have hired Gorelick to represent them. They have agreed to a $20B fund for victims. This is not a sacrifice for BP because it helps them pursue their goals. Where do you think much of this money will go? Likely for green energy projects in the Gulf area. Why does Fannie own the patent? They want to link it to housing and much of the money will likely be doled out there. Franklin Raines is now on the Board of a housing project to refit homes and he is likely in on the scheme.

The enviros' huge dreams for making billions on the CCX are on the line. This is their moment to make their push and BP, Obama, Fannie Mae, Gorelick, and Raines are all in it together.

Is this tin-foil or real? We will see as the BP story contines on, but I do believe they will do ANYTHING to get their green dream and Ms Gorelick represents their way forward.

I hope they got a side of immunity with that!

We know this Administration returns to the well over and over and over again.

This is a political slush fund nothing more. Politicians and their hanger-oners will populate this Board ... unless the IRS manages it.

$20B would be several years profit for this multinational company if the article I read on 2008 earnings is correct. It reflects 2008 profit as $21.1M. (http://www.bp.com/extendedsectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9027576&contentId=7050330)

Makes me wonder if this is in contradiction to US statute now in existence limiting payouts. Plus the action itself is unprecedented by any President.

Wonder if BP will now shut its doors in the US and go play somewhere else in the world.

I wonder how much BP is paying her to sink their company?

Actually, they are trying to transform their company. Don't forget that BP is out in front on cap and trade and helped write the Democrats' bill.

They likely thought up the $20B fund. It will them to get their green ideas disseminated.

BP would like to beat all the US companies in green energy because if US policy ever changes to favor the US oil companies BP will be out in the cold. So they have been and will continue to combine with the Dems to try to defeat the US oil companies by leading us all into a green revolution. This is their big chance.

You got it .. Jamie Gorelick, 9/11 Wall Builder, Clinton/Reno/Waco CYA participant, buddy of Holder, thief
of $26M from our Fannie Mae dollars.

She’s the insider’s insider .. greased from years of
compliance with her rat puppetmasters. This is the lib
mafia .. at it’s highest and most powerful. This is all
staged faux crisis management. Watch the man behind the curtain.

And .. oh look .. there’s Tom Daschle!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BP also brought along legal advisors, including general counsel Rupert Bondy, and litigator Jamie Gorelick from top US law firm WilmerHale.
Jamie Gorelick is also serves on BP America’s external advisory council, alongside Tom Daschle.
Obama’s White House worked hand in hand with BP on spill response. This meeting is theater for public consumption, much like last night’s Oval Office speech.
Obama provided no details on the disaster. He didn’t address the new estimate of 35,000 to 60,000 barrels per day, released hours before his talk. He still hasn’t answered the supertanker question, posed weeks ago in a press conference.
The White House scolding of BP is intended to disperse public anger. It’s not clear they have a plan for anything else.
This is, what? After 60 days, what do you achieve in 20 minutes.
He had an important tee time. 18 holes takes about 4 hours, so you can do the math.
The warped mind of Jamie Gorelick, helping to
incite the lib ‘right wing wacko’ theories:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick said that President Barack Obama should speak in front of members of the militia movement to calm down rhetoric in the midst of a resurgent anti-government movement.

Gorelick was speaking Friday as part of a panel discussion marking the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing on Monday. On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 168 people.

McVeigh, an anti-government extremist who was hoping to spark a revolt against the federal government, was convicted, sentenced to the death penalty and executed on June 11, 2001.

“It is harder to demonize someone who is real and right in front of you,” said Gorelick, now of WilmerHale. “Although it was a long time ago, our experience dealing with militia groups in the aftermath of Oklahoma City was pretty powerful.”

According to Gorelick, after the bombing, the Justice Department asked the FBI to approach militia movements across the country and tell them they could speak out and hold exercises in the woods but that they couldn’t threaten violence against the government.

President Bill Clinton also went to Michigan State and spoke to students and members of the militia movement and thanked those who had opposed the bombing.

Gorelick recommended that Obama try a similar approach.

“I see these things as waves, and I believe we’re having another wave right now, it feels that way to me, and I’m hoping there’s something short of a catharsis — which in the case of Oklahoma City and the abortion clinic bombings and others has been death — that will stop that pendulum swing,” said Gorelick.

And they brought a suitcase full of campaign contributions in the form of an escrow account that even BP has no control over.

BP was going green but was behind schedule due to Katrina...so orders were given from the top to bypass security measures...and BOOM. The rest is history.

SO...First thing that come to my mind is that she is receiving $$$ either because she knows too much (blackmail) or as part of a pay for play deal because she kept quiet when she knew too much....She’s got protection somewhere IMO.
