Snip- The oil giant brought its top brass, and even came armed with a top Clinton administration Justice Department official, Jamie Gorelick, whose name was floated as a possible attorney general pick for Obama. The White House side of the conference table in the Roosevelt Room was stacked: Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, five Cabinet secretaries, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, Attorney General Eric Holder and top presidential advisors. Both sides had their lawyers on hand.

Obama was scheduled to spend 20 minutes in the meeting. He entered the room with an entourage: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and her coordinator for claims oversight, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Commerce Secrertary Gary Locke, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, and senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

I agree, there needs to be accountability. This person should not be in charge of the $. Too much can go wrong.

Gorelick, Raines, Dodd, Waters amd Fwank should all be in prison right now if sanity ruled the day.

Also at the BP brass WH meeting----was the warped mind of Jamie Gorelick (a Fannie Mae looter), who was helping to incite the lib ‘right wing wacko’ theories.....telling Obama he should "do a Clinton" ....and speak in front of members of the militia movement to calm down rhetoric in the midst of a resurgent anti-government movement.

This is indicative of a very disturbing government mindset. Obama/Incompetano's documented hatred of Americans; they ordered L/E to surveil and supress Americans. This contrasts sharply with their kid glove handling of drug lords, savages, and terrorists bent on violence and destruction.

A VERY DISTURBING GOV'T MINDSET Obama/Incompetano pulled out all the stops to go after American "extremists" few months back but seem "unable" to go after bombers and terrorists.

Keep in mind, Americans look at savage Mexican drug cartels, the undie bomber and Shazad with fear and trepidation, and demand justice. Ohaha/Incompetano, Holder, Emanuel, Axelrod, Soros and that bunch, look at them with kindness and understanding, b/c they are out to "get" those evil Americans.

OHAHA/DHS PROFILES AMERICANS--HATRED OF AMERICANS SPEWS FORTH No more proof is needed than Obama/Incompetano's profiling Americans as “rightwing extremists.”

On April 7, 2009, their hatred of Americans spewed full force as DHS' Office of Intelligence and Analysis sent out a nationwide alert to US L/E to act against "evil" conservatives. DHS identified “rightwing extremists” as a "danger" and defined “rightwing extremists” in a footnote, as follows.

OBAMA/INCOMPETANO ORDER L/E TO SUPPRESS AND DESTROY AMERICANS. EXCERPT DHS' Office of Intelligence and Analysis to L/E: "Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

DHS later said that the report was not an attempt to squash First Amendment Rights for conservatives----only "hate groups"---- but, there was NO attempt to exempt anyone from these broad generalizations. Obama/Incompetano's report paints EVERY ASPECT OF AMERICAN CONSERVATISM as "suspect."

I think you have nicely knitted together the various links between the players and their connecitions. Did not know that about the patent on CCX carbon trading.

You have a quasi-governmental company, subsidized by US, now getting into another area of investment. This after having pushed sub prime mortgages and secondary market sales of them to the point the originators ran to derivatives to lay off their expected losses. And Jamie Gorelick is right in the middle of this. You have special tax breaks for these “green” things, coupled with pay to play from BP. Really sleazy.

The only problem with all of this is that the oil is still gushing out into the Gulf. No amount of “save my ass” green energy investment will save BP, as they paddle against the tide of the reality of their pollution. The whole think stinks, and the president does not have the power to do what they are doing. If Exxon et al was smart they’d sue over this (you know, “helping out” their fellow sister in oil)- wonder if they will.

None of this passes the SMELL TEST.

I now believe BP has either been blackmailed, or is in cahoots with Obama.

Agree. BP has also “agreed to 100 mill” to cover “displaced platform workers”. So, the Fascist in chief doesn’t have to ask congress to cover the work loss, the competitor oil companies are NOT allowed to drill, and they “feel no pain” since their worker’s pay will be covered by other than them. Hey, it’s all win-win. Wrong. US sourced oil is being eliminated. Note the “green” goal is to reduce our “dependence on FOSSIL fuel”-— no, a real goal would be to reduce our dependence on FOREIGN OIL. We still are dependent now in more ways than one— we are now beholden to BP consortium of British Petroleum. The people who brought you the country of Iran. Does not surprise me that Daschle and Gorelick are in the thick of this= greedy bastard fascists.

BP CEO is part of CCX, he and the company donated millions to Obama’s campaign...so if BP goes bankrupt, which it likely will, he’ll be fine, whereas his employees won’t.

Isn’t it interesting that the 5 affected states, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida are all Red states...anyone picking up on this? Obama doesn’t care a wit about them and if they starve.

Soros keeps shorting anything he knows is in the Center For American Progress’ plans for America’s destruction and slavery reparations. This is why Petrobas is a big Soros holding and them and China still drill off our coast while we can’t. Have I left anything out? Seriously, correct anything, but I believe this is the reparations presidency.

I couldn’t figure out why Gorelick is in the mix. I think it came to me.

Gorelick was on the Fannie Board. As strange as it may seem Fannie Mae now OWNS the patent for carbon trading on the CCX. BP is also heavily involved in the CCX and has doled out millions (many millions) for green energy.

So now the green energy activists at BP have hired Gorelick to represent them. They have agreed to a $20B fund for victims. This is not a sacrifice for BP because it helps them pursue their goals. Where do you think much of this money will go? Likely for green energy projects in the Gulf area. Why does Fannie own the patent? They want to link it to housing and much of the money will likely be doled out there. Franklin Raines is now on the Board of a housing project to refit homes and he is likely in on the scheme.

The enviros’ huge dreams for making billions on the CCX are on the line. This is their moment to make their push and BP, Obama, Fannie Mae, Gorelick, and Raines are all in it together.

Is this tin-foil or real? We will see as the BP story contines on, but I do believe they will do ANYTHING to get their green dream and Ms Gorelick represents their way forward.

Look for my post... think you nailed it...it is a big conspiracy...and it’s real.

Once a government pet, BP now a capitalist tool
By: Timothy P. Carney
Examiner Columnist
June 9, 2010

In this May 30, 2010 file photo, BP PLC CEO Tony Hayward talks to reporters as he visits a Coast Guard command center in Venice, La. BP’s inability to contain the worst oil spill in U.S. history has focused attention on CEO Tony Hayward’s words and deeds over the past six weeks - and the scrutiny has not yielded a flattering image. (AP file photo)

As BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig was sinking on April 22, Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., was on the phone with allies in his push for climate legislation, telling them he would soon roll out the Senate climate bill with the support of the utility industry and three oil companies — including BP, according to the Washington Post.

Kerry never got to have his photo op with BP chief executive Tony Hayward and other regulation-friendly corporate chieftains. Within days, Republican co-sponsor Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., repudiated the bill following a spat about immigration, and Democrats went back to the drawing board.

But the Kerry-BP alliance for an energy bill that included a cap-and-trade scheme for greenhouse gases pokes a hole in a favorite claim of President Obama and his allies in the media — that BP’s lobbyists have fought fiercely to be left alone. Lobbying records show that BP is no free-market crusader, but instead a close friend of big government whenever it serves the company’s bottom line.

While BP has resisted some government interventions, it has lobbied for tax hikes, greenhouse gas restraints, the stimulus bill, the Wall Street bailout, and subsidies for oil pipelines, solar panels, natural gas and biofuels.

Now that BP’s oil rig has caused the biggest environmental disaster in American history, the Left is pulling the same bogus trick it did with Enron and AIG: Whenever a company earns universal ire, declare it the poster boy for the free market.

As Democrats fight to advance climate change policies, they are resorting to the misleading tactics they used in their health care and finance efforts: posing as the scourges of the special interests and tarring “reform” opponents as the stooges of big business.

Expect BP to be public enemy No. 1 in the climate debate.

There’s a problem: BP was a founding member of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), a lobby dedicated to passing a cap-and-trade bill. As the nation’s largest producer of natural gas, BP saw many ways to profit from climate legislation, notably by persuading Congress to provide subsidies to coal-fired power plants that switched to gas.

In February, BP quit USCAP without giving much of a reason beyond saying the company could lobby more effectively on its own than in a coalition that is increasingly dominated by power companies. Theymade out particularly well in the House’s climate bill, while natural gas producers suffered.

But two months later, BP signed off on Kerry’s Senate climate bill, which was hardly a capitalist concoction. One provision BP explicitly backed, according to Congressional Quarterly and other media reports: a higher gas tax. The money would be earmarked for building more highways, thus inducing more driving and more gasoline consumption.

Elsewhere in the green arena, BP has lobbied for and profited from subsidies for biofuels and solar energy, two products that cannot break even without government support. Lobbying records show the company backing solar subsidies including federal funding for solar research. The U.S. Export-Import Bank, a federal agency, is currently financing a BP solar energy project in Argentina.

Ex-Im has also put up taxpayer cash to finance construction of the 1,094-mile Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline carrying oil from the Caspian Sea to Ceyhan, Turkey—again, profiting BP.

Lobbying records also show BP lobbying on Obama’s stimulus bill and Bush’s Wall Street bailout. You can guess the oil giant wasn’t in league with the Cato Institute or Ron Paul on those.

BP has more Democratic lobbyists than Republicans. It employs the Podesta Group, co-founded by John Podesta, Obama’s transition director and confidant. Other BP troops on K Street include Michael Berman, a former top aide to Vice President Walter Mondale; Steven Champlin, former executive director of the House Democratic Caucus; and Matthew LaRocco, who worked in Bill Clinton’s Interior Department and whose father was a Democratic congressman. Former Republican staffers, such as Reagan alumnus Ken Duberstein, also lobby for BP, but there’s no truth to Democratic portrayals of the oil company as
an arm of the GOP.

Two patterns have emerged during Obama’s presidency: 1) Big business increasingly seeks profits through more government, and 2) Obama nonetheless paints opponents of his intervention as industry shills. BP is just the latest example of this tawdry sleight of hand.

Once a government pet, BP now a capitalist tool.

Timothy P. Carney is The Washington Examiner’s lobbying editor. His K Street column appears on Wednesdays.

It fits well. Soros is scum personified. Made his life shorting people, his own people too during Nazi occupation. He is lower than low. I cannot see clear to “reparations” to just black people, but rather using the funds to buy political control of the unemployed masses all on the take from this “largesse” wrested from private capitalism, with the help of willing board members of BP. Meanwhile the destruction of the middle class continues. The downfall of all this can occur if we just say, no more and exercise our own considerable political clout. There has to be good people to stop this onslaught. Each of us must be brave.
