The president, along with daughters Sasha and Malia, senior adviser David Axelrod, longtime Chicago friend Eric Whitaker and brother-in-law Konrad Ng, made a surprise appearance at the Washington Nationals game Friday night, where rookie phenom pitcher Stephen Strasburg made his third start, facing off again Obama's Chicago White Sox. Also spotted with the president were Senior Adviser David Axelrod and Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.).
Obama, wearing a Sox cap, left during the 9th innning of a game Chicago finally took 2-1 in the 11th inning.
The appearance was relatively low-key, the AP reports, with none of the special security measures that were in place in April when Obama threw out the opening day pitch for the Nats.

Meanwhile Governor Brewer is by her phone waiting for his promised call to deploy troops to her state.
Truthfully, I don’t expect him to spend every waking hour in the Oval or in Louisiana or anywhere else, any more than I would have expected Bush to do.

Wow, I’m amazed he stayed around for nine innings considering that he has only given BP executives 20 minutes of his time over the last two months.

Do you expect him to look so unconcerned by the events unfolding in the world? Bush quit golfing after the Iraq invasion, and you can look at pics of him and see a certain change in his demeanor as the responsibilities for two wars and Katrina wore on. Obama golfs, plays basketball, has concerts at the White House, and the pics you see of him are downright scary.
The responsibility and gravity of the office he holds have not and probably never will sink in. Even Maureen Down remarked this week..............” President Obama’s bloodless quality about people and events, the emotional detachment that his aides said allowed him to see things more clearly, has instead obscured his vision.” I would call it narcissism, unbridled ego, arrogance, etc.
