And just what’s wrong with having too many women on campus?

On the face of it, nothing at all. Getting a college degree and a better job / career is a good thing.

The potential down-side of "too many women on campus" is what sort of attitudes these young ladies are going to learn and carry along with them throughout their careers, especially if they are are becoming lawyers and future judges and lawmakers, etc.

The potential problem is a campus / academic culture that indoctrinates and teaches many of these young ladies to favor an all powerful state over individual rights and freedoms, and to view men and male behavior with suspicion and disgust.

Then we will continue to have ever more nanny state laws being enforced and court systems even more biased against men.

Is there an Un-PC breakdown of the male/female ratio on campus by race? It's no secret that black females have taken advantage of educational opportunities in greater numbers than black males. Might also be true for Hispanics.

That probably won't explain it all, but is probably a factor in the declining percentage of males on campus.

A lot of guys go into trades since they are smart enough to know that a four year liberal arts degree is worth less that a roll of toilet paper. Why waste four years and over $100K on something like that if you know you're not smart enough to make it in engineering or science? Also a business degree is almost as worthless, unless coming from a top rated school or is focused on accounting. We hire tons of women with 4 year liberal arts degrees at my company, mostly as receptionists and secretaries.

1.5 years of Business courses and 2.5 years of General Education/Liberal Arts courses. Students take approximately 15 business courses depending on their specialization, out of a total of 40 courses for the four-year degree.

That is true of every major. Some majors, particularly in Liberal Arts, only have 10-12 required major courses.

Maybe I am missing something. Despite my mild dyslexia and ADD, I have two college degrees (Engineering and Business).

Yep, definitely a significant part of this trend that is creating the higher percentage of females on campus; almost twice as many black females in college as black males.

When there is a shortage of men, women become more aggressive. It has always happened after wars.

And during also. I was in the Navy in the early 50s and talked with a lot of WWII vets. They said that duty in Australia then was a paradise - women would stop you in the street and ask where you were going. Any guy with a brain would pick up on that and make out like a bandit. All the Aussie sons and husbands were overseas somewhere fighting for the Empire and the man - woman ratio was something to dream about..

Colleges should be first looking at whether the prospective applicants are US Citizens or not, period!

Clever trick this....come to the US as a student, spend 4-7 years going to school and graduate with a Masters or better. Apply for a job - get it- apply for citizenship - Boom! got it and then the anchor transitions start - mom, dad, sister, cousins nephews, uncles, aunts ......next to the SS office (after getting grandad a job in the quickie mart for the requisite number of quarters for his social security check..... No way in hell should this be going on.

Yes, but with affirmative action in place, these crappy degrees will give women indoctrinated in victimhood a perfect avenue to become the next generation of paper-pushing bureaucrats.

Many men are becoming disillusioned with higher education and prefer technical careers that require only 2-year degrees or certifications. However, Mahogeny Row is populated with denizens with degrees, even if those degrees are essentially useless.
