So what if I’m in a minority? Right is right. I’m probably in the minority on the $20 billion slush fund Obama extorted from BP, too. The rule of law, to include the UCMJ, is worth defending.
Bottom line: McChrystal is subject to the UCMJ just like all military members. His rank doesn’t give him a free pass. An honorable general resigns if he can’t faithfully execute the CINC’s orders.
You didn’t answer the question!
I don’t believe that for one minute. He voted for Obama against a military guy? No way. He thought it would soften what he was about to say. Which was DUMB. Egotistic. He’ll get what he deserves.
I hate to break the news to you, but the obligation to keep one’s mouth shut comes with the uniform. If GEN McChrystal wants to mouth off, he needs to retire. If he wants to wear the uniform, he needs to zip it.
I don’t know (or care) if you have ever worn the uniform. I have, and I took very seriously my responsibilities while I did. GEN McChrystal is required to do the same.
What part of “used to be an officer” is confusing you? Has your lithium prescription run out again?
Sorry. I assumed that “while I did” clearly identified that I no longer wear the uniform. I will no longer assume rudimentary reading skills on your behalf.
Have a good day.
I can’t agree it’s a pointless mission but I think, after 8 years, it is time to re-evaluate the strategy from top to bottom and figure out an endgame. The nation building aspect clearly isn’t working. There was never any real nation there in the first place.
Unfortunately, when generals play politics it’s the fighting troops who get caught in the middle.
Sorry, but the article you cited refers to retired officers. I am not retired. I resigned my commission prior to retirement.
As I said, I now understand that reading comprehension is not your strong point. (Apparently logic is not your strong suit either.)
Have a good day.
Maybe you should get off the drugs that you mentioned, since you keep showing your ignorance.
Good info.
There is also in the story the fact that he didn’t like working for someone who was his subordinate and who is the Ambassador now.
and did you see the thing where he wrote a story on how to kill a president, lol. Obambi better keep his distance.
Long time no-seeum,,,
I missed that part I guess,,,
Hopefully that won't happen,,,
I wanna see his silly ass dragged out by the Marines,,,
Full perp walk straight to Jail...
Only incompetent leadership blames their juniors in rank.
Then don't order them into Afghanistan and ignore the opium trade, but wage war on civilians with heretical religious beliefs shared by the military's senior in command.
I suspect there is a tremendous amount of restraint being manifest to not arrest Obama for his lack of qualification for the office he has assumed, simply out of respect for other civilian rule.
The boss was pretty disappointed, says the adviser.
From this alone, McChrystal demonstrates his respect for senior authority and manifests the senior leadership to whom he reported failed to provide much worthy of respect, but nonetheless respected.
Elsewhere,
In a hotel room in Paris getting ready for a dinner with a French official, McChrystal says: Howd I get screwed into going to this dinner?
I seem to recall another senior commander who not only manifest reluctance to attend a French dinner, but stood up the President of France and his entourage for dinner, when he showed up impromptu and stayed in their plushest accommodations. I wonder if that senior official will also be held so accountable to tender his resignation.
Last of all, why would Rolling Stone be admitted into the confidence of senior military command for any prolonged period?
Why would anybody give merit to the veracity of Rolling Stone?
Why doesn't the senior command structure support and clearly enunciate to the American people the reasons for the military to be fighting in southern Asia, but fail to defend the integrity of the American border or its LEOs?
