How so? The people were free to make a choice and they did. What's troubling is that we still have those same people, if not more of them.

Don't forget, this is going to be available in 8 years, according to the Hollywood timeline:
Of course, the enviros (and elitist control freaks) would raise unholy hell if the individual had this kind of cheap power at their disposal.

Yes, by now I was expecting flying cars.
That’s the problem, year after year, the SAME flying cars.

Yea, well consider this: If you thought the plumber with the buttcrack was expensive, wait till you get the repair bill from the nuclear physicist.......

Maybe not so disappointing, at least its some kind of innovation - clunky as it may be. Remember the first cars looked pretty clunky too.

Nothing to worry about. If your toilet leaks you call a plumber. If your proton to proton fusion reactor leaks you call the coroner. An uncontrolled spray of neutrons has some fairly nasty side effects.

How so? The people were free to make a choice and they did.Are you kidding me? It's THE CHOICE that's disappointing, not the act of free elections which you're alluding to.

To: RaceBannon
Heck, I had mine for almost 50 years now!! Yours is more compact than a scuba tank, too. This ducted-fan rig ain't what you'd call svelte and futuristic-looking.
It puts me in mind of something that Professor Fate might've concocted. Heck, you can practically hear the related soundtrack. :-)
