“Arlington Cemetery Fields Phone Calls From Worried Families”

It’s bad enough what these families went through when their service members were alive and lost, now they have to worry about their remains.

It should at least be a toll free number. Your loved one died for his/her country, we screwed the pooch on records, now you get to pay while on hold with some inept clerk trying to figure out where your loved one might have been buried. Government bungling at the best, and Obama just continues to play golf through it all.

Is there any pattern as to which records are messed up? If it were only, or primarily, the original Civil War graves, it’d be easier to understand.

There should be a date window. In other words, the warning could include something along the lines of: If a loved one was laid to rest at Arlington between this date and that date, family members with concerns can call 703-607-8199 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
