Good Question: Where's My Alabama Tax Refund?

MONTGOMERY, AL - Have you gotten your state refund tax check yet? Many Alabamians haven't yet, and they're growing more impatient by the day.

Barbara Moore of Athens wrote WHNT NEWS 19 to ask us to find out when the state will send refund checks to people who are waiting on refunds.

"Some of us feel like we're being forgotten by the state," said Moore. "Can you get us a general idea when to expect what is due to us?"

WHNT NEWS 19 is taking action to get the answer. We contacted the Alabama Department of Revenue, and workers say refunds will continue to be processed for the next month or two, and that so far, the state has mailed out nearly 590,000 refund checks totaling more than $238 million.

The state expects to approve well over one million refunds this year.

Thanks for the info. I’ll tell him to check up on his rebates. (He filed electronically also)

Same here. My Missouri refund was in the mail today. I had totally forgotten about it.

What do you consider as a high sales tax in Tennessee? In Texas, the state is 5.25% (somewhere around there), but locals as 3%. Groceries and pharmaceuticals are not taxed.

I got my refund within 3 weeks of filing back in Feb. My accountant did the filing for both. I had the federal within a week.

“Filing early is the key!”

I agree, I filed in March, and had my refund before the end of April...... Same for Federal.
