John Stossel / FOX Business Channel Doing VERY Pro-Concealed Carry Gun Story
Friends and Fiends At Network | John Stossel

Posted on 06/24/2010 6:44:29 AM PDT by MindBender26

Just got a heads-up from old network friend.

John Stossel is doing a VERY pro-concealed carry story on FOX Business News today. It is very statistic and reality driven vs. the traditional MSM "Chicken Little" approach to weapons.

A quote from Shossel. "I worked at the mainstream media for years, and they all swallow all the liberal lines, and it is never more apparent than in their approach to guns and the carrying of them. This story will show how wrong they are."

Do not have an air time. Remember, this is FOX Business, not FNC.

“Stossel is a Libertarian.”

Actually, he’s a former liberal turned libertarian. It’s when he started actually examining EVIDENCE that he migrated from the first worldview to the second. In light of the clear damage caused by alcohol (literally thousands of deaths a year in alcohol-related auto crashes)—coupled with the recognition that the appropriate response is not to prohibit alcohol for everyone just because of irresponsible use by a few—there are no evidence-based grounds for criminalizing marijuana use.

Either we’re a free society—meaning some people will inevitably use their freedom to make mistakes, and hopefully learn from them—or we’re a nanny state empowered to protect us all from our own poor judgment. I believe the Founders intended the former, not the latter. With freedom comes responsibility as well as the natural consequences that flow from exercising one’s freedom irresponsibly.

Stossel is a strong voice in support of what I do believe.

Most libertarians are. Despite the Nanny-State supporters bleating to the contrary. Especially in regards to things like the Second Amendment.

Now we know why he left ABC. ABC would NEVER allow such liberal blasphemy on the air.

FBN’s John Stossel argues the right to carry a concealed gun would reduce crime.

Waaaay back in history, like when Chicago was 'gun friendly', I carried my Colt .38 Detective Special almost every day for three years. I had to go to meetings in some ....uh .... 'bad neighborhoods' while dressed in a three piece suit and looking like an easy mark for some street thug.

And I wasn't alone in carrying. A fellow co-worker and Project Manager always carried his Browning Hi-Power. He gave me the heads up about 'safety' when I got promoted to Project Manager. And the best part was -- the Co Owner didn't care. His one son would bring his Ruger Blackhawk to work and carry it open/holstered in the office.

And I carried it everywhere -- while in the office, office buildings in downtown Chicago (Arch's & Engr's offices), the Job Sites, Gin Mills after work, and ....... SCHOOLS! (OH NO, call out the National Guard!)

Funny thing though. None of us ever killed anyone?!?
The Brady Bunch prolly wouldn't believe that. /s

“A journalist only has their integrity.”

Those two words are an oxymoron. These days, 90% of “journalists” are agenda driven, partially thru their flaming liberal journalism school indoctrination and perpetuated by the editors/news directors of their papers, stations, or networks.

A true journalist is like Joe Friday - “just the facts m’aam.” What you see now on regular news reports in all the media, are reporters subtly inserting a slanted view of the events, using key words with negative connotations for conservatives and positive connotations for flaming liberals. Negative stories about leftists that they are unable to massage are just not reported as if they don’t exist.

In many, but not all, instances FoxNews is a notable exception.

Re the Stossel toke opinion, if you want somebody that agrees with you 100% on everything - look in the mirror because it doesn’t exist elsewhere.

I would bet that more families are destroyed by the lagal penalties associated with pot than the use of the drug on its own.

More families are destroyed by alcohol than any other drug. We admitted failure in the WOA, maybe it's time to give up on the WOD. No, I do not use any drugs, aside from the occasional glass of wine with diner.

Most of the harm and almost all of the violence associated with drugs is a result of prohibition, not the drugs themselves. And people who destroy their lives with opium and cocaine would use alcohol if those were not available.
