I’m starting to get the feeling that President Obama is no workaholic.

His much trumpeted “War on Petroleum” speech in the Oval Office last week fell flat to most listeners, regardless of political affiliation, because our “genius”, Harvard educated President made it clear to the entire world that he knew less about the Gulf spill than the average 10th grader.

What has this man been doing with his time for the past two months?

You’d think by now Obama would at least have something intelligent to say about containment booms, or sand berms, or the Jones Act, or flow rates, or the coming hurricane season and its possible effects on the cleanup effort.

Sen. George Lemieux had this to say about a recent talk with Obama: “He doesn’t seem to know the situation about foreign skimmers (or) domestic skimmers.”

No kidding.

The President has access to the best information in the world, and yet I would swear the man hasn’t spent 20 minutes on Google researching the spill.

They asked him if he has played 39 rounds since Obama took office. He said no.

I'd doubt that seriously. Although he's made only 3 cuts out of 13 tried this year, that would make 32 rounds. Last year he made 5 cuts out of 23 tries for 56 rounds. That's a total of 88 rounds in official PGA events. I'd reckon he played a few more rounds that weren't official. Now I haven't played 39 rounds since Obama was sworn in, but I wish I had.

I wish I could think that's all there was to it, but I'm not buying that it was solely the media. No one on either side of the aisle has extraordinary respect for the MSN. The fact that the “media” has devolved to a visual art just made it easier (and more profitable) to make money from a “young, hip black man”. Nope, I think the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the voting public. What worries me (and I think a growing number of those on the left) is that they “trusted” their party to vet this guy, and it didn't. Now, I think most Democrats are thinking they backed the wrong horse in the election (and that filly is all to happy to prove them right), and they may well BE right. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when the Clintons are looking like the last, best hope. (Let's not forget those Budhist nuns, giving the Chinese access to Los Alamos -- oh, geez, the list is to long for a post). There was no vast right-wing conspirator poking them with a pitchfork to make them do what they did.

I don't want anybody else in office who can compartmentalize their lack of discipline, lack of integrity and playing fast and loose with the rules, and think they can run the country. Anybody who thinks the running of the USA is a turnkey operation that pretty much runs itself is an idiot and we can't afford any more idiots in Washington.
