So you distrust us on the basis of ‘betting’ 1 in 3 British thought Sept 11th a good thing?. Which of course is just rubbish.

...never renounced his Polish citizenship, but when asked to play for Poland, he replied that he had a German passport.

Nowadays, it's actually impossible to play for Poland, for Germany, etc. You just play for Polish or German FIFA, while country names have nothing to do with reality. I don't give a damn for German, French, English or any other FIFA.

In 2007, when the Minister of Justice was Zbigniew Ziobro and Poland was run by PiS, the whole world could witness to tremendous proportions of the corruption scandal in so called "Polish" football. Almost 200 referees arrested and finally sentenced for bribery! What's more, any attempts of changing that scandalous situation proved to be pointless due to paranoid reactions of FIFA authorities, who threatened Poland with expelling from the league. So, the result is that Polish FIFA is a bunch of untouchable ex-communist activists, highly enmeshed in internal struggle for power and money. The league itself is simply destroyed while the proper selection and traing could be compared to bringing horses in, where the aim is clear - "train and sell"! Other aspects are rather insignificant. The league is only a money making machine to them. See, Klose and Podolski prove that completely! It's enough to leave Poland, get away from the power of that communist scum that strangle the sport and the result is visible. The coumtry rocks! Fortunately, West Germany proved to be strong enough to get involved in corruption affairs while GDR proved to be too weak to take it over.

On the other hand, see the Handball and Volleyball leagues! Since Polish authorities managed to get rid of all those commie old-farts and just wiped out any forms of corruption from their federations, our teams just give hell to others at European or World finals. Only Brazil remains too powerful for us. Look, last season Mr.Wenta trained Polish volleyball players, and not only did they kick German asses but also got vice-champions. By the way, in this season, Mr Wenta is a trainer of the German league and, in turn, it kicks our butts pretty good :-) Same processes happen to Polish Volleyball Federation, where the Polish team always manages to get to the finals.

Unfortunately, Polish football seems to be lost forever - an untouchable stronghold of corruption with simply criminal practices.

FIFA authorities will never allow Poland (I mean govt authorities) to change that horrible situation because too big money is at stake.

I only wonder why the Polish parliament doesn't forbid to use the name "Polish" in case of the football team. It should have been - The Team of Polish FIFA, not The Polish team. It's pathetic, and EURO 2012 will be yet another pathetic event to compromise Poland where so called "the Polish" team will surely lose to football "superpowers" like the Shetland or the Orkney Islands, while winning over teams of Monaco or Lichtenstein will be nothing but the neverending dream.

I remember the 1999 Ryder Cup, and some of the vile things said about American players, their wives, our way of life, and I remember thinking this is not just good natured ribbing, these people really don’t like us. I said 1 in 3, and I think that’s low considering how many Muslims, Socialists, athiests, and parasites that make up modern day Britan.

A cop pulls a guy over for speeding and asks him to do a breath test. The guy pulls out a medical card that says "this man is an asthmatic, do not take breath tests".

So the cop asks him to do a blood test, whereupon the guy pulls out another medical card that says "this man is an anaemic, do not take his blood".

So the cop asks him to do a urine test, whereupon the guy pulls out yet another medical card that says "this man is an England soccer fan, please do not take the p*ss"!

There's lots of them doing the rounds here in England atm. About all we have left is to laugh at ourselves... :0

The 1999 Ryder Cup?. Do you even remember WHY there was an outburst of anger in Britain at America and Americans because of that tournament?.

The treatment of the European players and the behaviour of the US team and fans was appalling. Mark James’s wife and Colin Montgomerie’s father were both verbally abused and spat on (a woman and an old man, how tough), and the behaviour of the US team was a disgrace. So bad that several British-European players in fact wanted to stop playing the Ryder Cup in protest.

To talk about the 99 Ryder Cup and say how vile the British were and to ignore the boorish American behaviour of players and fans is just breathtaking, and either utter stupidity or complete ignorance. And it wasnt the first time: the behaviour of US fans and even players at Kiawah Island in 1991 was widely criticised as obnoxious and boorish.

Compare it to 2002 here when the US team post 9-11 was treated with politeness by the British and Irish golf fans.

Mark James talked about the fake religiousity of American Tom Lehman. The fans were rowdy and the Euros choked. The British sports writers talked about how every American player appeared to have married the same woman (blond, beautiful).

The only goal line technology FIFA needs are better sets of eyes.

I think a 5th official in a "replay" booth could be useful for a limited set of circumstances could improve the situation greatly without impacting the flow of the game.

The limited criteria should remove as much human error as possible without stepping on the actual judgment of the officials. I would think the following criteria would be easy enough to review quickly and meet the above guidelines:

All three of those cases could be reviewed before the ball was put back in play -- they're very straightforward and the threshold of "proof" can be defined highly enough that we don't have NFL-style 2+ minute reviews.

In any event, suspensions due to accumulated cards in a tournament like this (or in league play, for that matter) should allow players to appeal discipline for the purposes of suspension. The tournament officials or league should likewise have the ability to issue discipline outside of the match for blatant fouls that were not called on the field

The Euros also talked about how the Americans were mercenaries that would sell their own mothers to make a buck. Some fans behaved badly, the American players ran onto the green after a big putt was made that sealed the win, but the Euros, esp. the English attacked our way of life, attacked our women, and made fun of our faith. I see it as jealousy plain and simple, and I have no doubt that many in Great Britain were happy when America was attacked and put in her place. I’d say 1 in 3 harbor an intense jealousy of America and how great she is. Hence the love Obama as he will also cut us down to size

A good ref will see faking or over-acting an injury for what it is and issue a yellow card for it.

Well, you know it’s a different world when people with names like Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski are called GERMANS.

The German/Polish thing is closely intertwined. Klose comes from a heavily German part of Poland, and his dad is ethnic German. Podolski is from around the same area, and his grandparents were German. These two could have played for Poland, but decided to play for Germany. Even Michael Ballack would have been Polish had he been born on the other side of the river of his border town. Ethnic populations and borders in that region have been pretty fluid for a long time.

hey Div.
you’re not the brightest person I have ever met on here that is for sure.

So first you think N
AZI Germany would have been better to have won the world war.

that is shocking and that kind of view is not welcomed on here and any more crap like that and you will be reported and banned.
We do not want NAZI’s on here and we certainly do not advocate their victories.
secondly.
if there was not 50 millions Germans in America the Uk would be speaking German.
Just with KIND OF EDUCATION DO YOU HAVE WHEN IT COEMS TO SPORT AND HISTORY?

You was supporting Germany because the Uk is cold and damp, are you frigging serious?

HONESTLY ARE YOU SERIOUS?
I have lived in Germany I know Germany and it is colder and just as wet as the Uk or ireland who you name yourself off.

BTW in America arse is spelt ASS, In Ireland and the UK is is spelt arse.
Again where did you say you’re from?

ARF

are you right in the head at all.
You have a new found distrust in the Uk since 9/11

yes OK the first country to have helped America , is our best ally the Uk.
First ot send dogs and search rescue over, the first to call and give medical supplies the fist to pick up a phone If the Germans had won the war the Nazi’s would have killed 15 million Jews instead of 6 million, and that is a bad thing.

DUR YOU THINK?

The best ally we have is the Uk , they have helped us in 3 wars, given their lives, was the first to call us with help and sent help for our search and rescue for 9/11.

The country who have given more lives helping us is our best ally the Uk, that is the Brits for your mind.
The country which has helped us in 3 wars now is the UK.

Also not not so bright one.
Saying maybe the Germans should have won the war is the same as saying you wanted the NAZI’s to win the war as it was called NAZI Germany or Hitlers Germany.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?

I love the part of where he said, that if 50 millions Germans did not come to America then the Uk would be speaking German along with supporting a country because one is cold and wet but forgets Germany is cold and wet as is Ireland he names himself after.

WOW

How could a sane country possibly prefer chihuahuas and Yorkshire terriers and other “fashionable” canine atrocities to something that adorable? Seriously...In the immortal words of Eric Cartman, “What is wrong with German people!?!???!”
