TAMPA - Two Tampa police officers died from injuries sustained during a shooting while they conducted a traffic stop early this morning. A massive search is under way for the suspects – a man and woman in a red 1994 Toyota Camry. Officer Jeffrey Kocab, 31, had been with the department for about 14 months and leaves behind a wife who is nine months pregnant. Officer Dave Curtis, 31, had been with the department for almost four years and has four young children.

These murderers should be hanged. No life without parole, just hang them

I prefer injecting them with Potassium Chloride, the drug that causes respiratory and cardiac arrest, without the benefit of the barbiturate that first knocks them unconscious. Let them feel the excruciating pain when they die. Then dump their worthless bodies in the city landfill.

Anywhere?

I GUARANTEE you my area of St. Louis is MUCH safer than this particular area of Tampa.

Bluntly, the difference is in the racial demographics.

Good strategy, but it has never has worked for me. If I’m stopped, the pad always comes out. I even keep my hands visible on the wheel and turn on the interior dome light if its night time.

Do you have an attractive bustline?

I concur that there are certainly areas much safer than others; but the police rarely know who they might be dealing with (unless a real small town); and just take risks.

As for profiling? Do it...lives on the line; we can whine about the 'hurt feelings' later...

I can live with that. It’s high time for criminals to begin getting the justice they deserve swiftly and without mercy.

The last guy that shot a cop was caught and had about 50 bullets in him. I guess the search party will carry more ammo this time?

That would be Polk county which is next door to Tampa. We can hope though, that Tampa PD took training with Sheriff Grady Judd.

I suspect that any minute now, some worthless Kenyan @sshole will say that “the police acted stupidly.”

One of the saddest things you will ever hear in life is the last police call that goes unanswered at a police Officers funeral. With a young wife and often young children in the front roll, It's heartbreaking. I saw this at the funeral for the four ambushed Officers hear in Washington. The hollow echo of those police calls had the strongest of us crying like babies. And each ended with Gone But Not Forgotten.

God Bless these fallen Officers

Thankfully it is a relatively SMALL part.

Given the proximity of the hip and trendy Washington Ave. district to that rat’s nest of gangstadom, I wonder how long it is going to last.

It’s incidents like this that make me very sympathetic to LEOs who display a short fuse in encounters with citizens. The story a few months back, about an officer who shot dead a drunk who was attempting to drive away despite being boxed in, was an example. I couldn’t believe the number of posters howling about how the shooting was “unnecessary”, because the perp couldn’t have actually gotten away in the vehicle on account of being boxed in. The guy was totally out-of-control, had rammed another vehicle with his car, and repeatedly refused police orders to get out of his car. As far as I’m concerned, that crosses the threshold to where police are justified in shooting first and asking questions later.

I guess what I was initially alluding to is the petty criminal’s mindset. Even if his rap sheet is a mile long for petty offenses, it wouldn’t get him the needle. This will, and he will be in custody within 24 hours. He will never see the light of day for the relatively short rest of his life. Anyone who kills a cop automatically sets every law enforcement agency in the state after his sorry butt.

That has been my experience also. It is best to treat them as you would want to be treated. Big mouths have caused people to get tickets when they would only have gotten a warning.

You are right. My mistake. I live here in Tampa and the NBC channel talking head just ask what social injustice made this black man do what he did.
