That’s why they named hurricanes after women until the limp-wristed crowd got jealous. ;)

I was never insulted when they were named after women. I thought it was kind of cool.

Northbound today, almost to the top of the TS zone.

Two convoys of Guard heading south and one power company.
Breezy this far north, minimal showers.

Yes, sorry I did misunderstand. We had a house on Galveston Bay and Allison did a number on our property. We were at our bay house preparing it for Allison. As it got close and we witnessed a tornado that hit the corner of our house and took all the furniture off our deck. We were right on the bay and the storm took 18” of soil out of our yard behind the bulkhead. The yard, fence and boat dock were not covered by insurance.

We need to get our state flags back on our home page so we will know where people live.

It would be nice to have those flags back.

I assume their removal might have to do with the technical difficulties FR has been experiencing lately? However, even without the flag, you can hover your mouse over the red X and blank box, and the name of the state will pop up.

As far as weather is concerned, if you’re still in the Houston area, looks like Alex may make things rough for you even if it goes ashore much farther south. That is a huge storm. Batten down your hatches!

Well, that's not good!

Here's a video link to Pirate's Landing Restaurant live cam - Port Isabel. Looks like it's getting rough there.

Yes I am in Houston and we have a ranch in Brazoria County, we can use some rain. We will be on the wet side of Alex. Glad to know how to get around that red X. thanks.
