THE Daily Mail has learnt that Israel is massing warplanes in the Caucasus for an attack on Iran. Preparations are underway to launch the military attack form Azerbaijan and Georgia, reports Akhbar Al Khaleej, quoting military sources.
It has been reported that Israel was, in fact, training pilots in Turkey to launch the strike and was smuggling planes into Georgia using Turkish airspace, according to the sources.

My analysis.....
The USA will be ready reserves. America does not have the stake in the battle that Israel and the moderate Arabs have. Their lives are literally on the line.
The war will be fought by the air forces of Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. When and if Iran actually attacks American forces we will become involved in the fighting.
Our effort will be intelligence and perhaps coordination. Obama will never attack until our forces are fired upon.
The question for me is ....who commands CENTCOM? Will he be the commander or will Petraeus run our show from Afghanistan?
Inert--I don't think Obama has the guts to use lethal force on anyone except United States citizens. What is more interesting, is whether he will attempt to cut off aid to Israel because of any military action against Iran.

A most important question because on the surface Gen Petraeus got demoted. If not he retains his CENTCOM duties. If not, 0 assumes leadership over CENTCOM as the all seeing, all knowing, boots on their necks organizer.

I expect tanks and artillery to move into Lebanon and Gaza...with a STRIDENT warning to Syria to lay low. If Syria, or Syrian missiles get involved, all hell will break loose. Israel will have to play for keeps.

You are an optimist. The Arabs may entice Israel behind the scenes, but they will keep a low profile and then blame Israel for "unprovoked aggression."
Don't forget also that Saudis are formally in a state of war with Israel (no, please don't ask what Israel ever did to them).
