Obama Offers Hope to Racine (Obama brags how low unemployment is with city of 14% unemployment)

President Obama focused on the economy Wednesday in a visit to Racine, a city suffering from a 14 percent unemployment rate. As WUWM’s Marti Mikkelson reports, the president tried to offer words of encouragement to the crowd.

About 1,300 people packed into the Racine Memorial Hall, located downtown on the lakefront. President Obama started off by empathizing with the crowd.

“I know that towns like Racine are still hurting from this recession. This city has the second highest unemployment rate in the state. And I can only imagine how much pain that’s caused and how many lives have been upended,” Obama says.

I believe I saw an article yesterday that stated that the Bush tax cuts were going to go away -- and it was all the fault of the Republicans! The Democrats, you see, would love to keep those tax cuts, but ... well ... the Republicans won't let them.
