Stimulus money is not being used in the private sector, thus not causing job creation.

In my city, the little money that has gone into road repair is now being negated by the unionized construction workers going on strike last night. They say they aren't looking for raises, but want their health care paid for.

I live in bizzaro world. Unemployment in construction is over 20% and these goons are going on strike. Seeing as it's govt contracts they will probably get everything they want. In the meantime my business revenues are down, costs are up and I'm not using the contractors I normally use.

Whatever it takes!

The minute you become a parent, you look at your baby and you can feel the protection instinct. You know you would die for you child without a second thought. I feel like that for my country right now. I will not let these people take this country away from my children! I will not let them take away the morals and values that have served my family well for generations. I will not let them take away the self worth individuals feel from liberty. I will not let them take my children’s future of self-determination.

I will die fighting!

The use of the word “unexpected” is getting old. They should just start reporting a rise or fall and quit painting the news.

"Stuart Varney on FoxNews just said that a second recession is looming, due to recent trend of numbers."

He's sort of assuming we never left the first recession.

I heard Stuart yesterday subbing for Cavuto and he was arguing with this guy about the recovery isn’t really happening and the guy (who had an opposite viewpoint) was arguing for another stimulus. Stuart said that the other stimulus package didn’t work, why does he think another one would. And the other guy said what we need is a smarter Stimulus package and Varney asked, well does that mean that the other stimulus packages were dumber?

Why is it that EVERYONE could see this coming except the God D**ned president of the United States?

Obama knows full well what he is doing. He is a communist. People need to wrap their minds around that dreadful fact. His supposed father was a communist, his mother, his white grandparents, his mentor Frank Marshall Davis, etc. He is doing what communists have always tried to do, which is destroy the United States. The man is a foreigner and not American in any way.

He is a bold faced liar, like all communist leaders, aided and abetted by the Pravda - like leftist Media. He is an ENEMY of this country, and we should never expect him to see the light, or change his policies in any way. He will continue to do everything possible to weaken and demoralize this country, all the while telling the people what they want to hear. That is why he has done nothing to help moderate the oil spill, for example, as he knows that he can use it to cause harm to our energy security.

He told us what he would do, and he is doing it.

Consider Elena Kagan. A rank hard left, AA unaccomplished lesbian victimhood monger nobody, is to be elevated to sit in judgement over us FOR LIFE, for no particular reason other than her communist world view, and her absolute commitment to destroying the Constitution. She is the worst possible type of person to sit on the Supreme Court; nothing but axes to grind in her queen size closet. In other words, she is exactly like Obama. Filth.

The scariest part of all this is the people. It seems that about 80% are walking around with their heads up their butts. It’s scary how stupid so many people appear to be.

We’re in a real life Twilight Zone.

It’s “unexpected” if you’re a mongoloid idiot who’s been living on Pluto for the past two years. Otherwise, no one is surprised.

This comment is very offensive to Joe Biden.

There is a simple answer to this problem. Congress needs to ban the release of unemployment figures. Problem solved.

“Unexpectantly”

Dear Lord you think they’d get a clue that this constant “unexpectedness” is a real old joke.

Meanwhile Obamer is overseas exhorting the Europeans to hop on board, keep spending.....give it time, it’ll work.

Folks, this is not Economics that we don’t get out here in la-la land. We all have a certain amount of money coming in and a certain amount that has to go out. We get that you can’t keep having more going out that’s coming in.

And yet the Dems keep up the spending mantra like we was all born at night, LAST night.

As for my opinion as a very NON-economic scholar but as a member of this fine forum which allows us to express opinions even if we aren’t experts on the subject of said opinions, I think this economy is in good shape.

Of course I must qualify.

The economy periodically goes on a downturn and by me this is a normal turn of events. There was the dot-com bust, the Enron et al thing, now this housing downturn. Cause greed will get us all from time to time and we will overdue it. This housing thing...giving mortgages to folks, well folks a lot like Obamer himself who believe in spending more than you bring in waaaaaaay beyond prudent, well that was dumb.

The economy will begin a slow trek upward, this as a new way to bring in tons of money....right now Obamer’s trying to sell “green” technology to investors and since we all were NOT born last night we know that such as windmills and lightbulbs that take ten minutes to come on are not yet ready for primetime.

Investors aren’t buying that scam, concurrent with global warming and we know this is a scam, plus the tax issues which, of course the gubmint must spend money so we must raise taxes. Add the health care debacle and on and on and hey, businesses aren’t going to expand. Everyone’s holding on to the purse strings and with good reason.

Mostly we’re waiting for 2012 for OBamer to take a hike, so long, nice try, we gave you a chance....or maybe, if we’re lucky, 2010, when enough of those jokers are swept out of office that they don’t have harming majorities.

Meanwhile, let us pray Obamer doesn’t damage this country too much.

“Obama knows full well what he is doin”

Obama has a socialist/communist and racist agenda, and believes he knows what he's doing, but like so many socialists/communists before him he really doesn't know what he is doing.

Take for example the USSR and it's leadership. They were convinced they knew what was best, and they kept making ‘5 year plans’ that were going to fix everything. Obviously, these plans never worked, but they kept believing that their way was the right way. Obama believes this way as well.

I agree with you that he is dangerous and an enemy of the traditional American way of life. That's because he doesn't believe in it. He likely thinks he is a visionary, and exceptionally bright. That's because he's the product of an academic culture that overvalues it's own knowledge and relevance.

Another item to note: None of the jobs created with Stimulus money are covered by unemployment insurance. Once those jobs end, those people go straight to poverty.
