House Democrats ‘Deem’ Faux $1.1 Trillion Budget ‘as Passed’
Human Events ^ | July 2, 2010 | Connie Hair

Posted on 07/02/2010 6:15:43 AM PDT by opentalk

Last night, as part of a procedural vote on the emergency war supplemental bill, House Democrats attached a document that “deemed as passed” a non-existent $1.12 trillion budget. The execution of the “deeming” document allows Democrats to start spending money for Fiscal Year 2011 without the pesky constraints of a budget.

The procedural vote passed 215-210 with no Republicans voting in favor and 38 Democrats crossing the aisle to vote against deeming the faux budget resolution passed.

Never before -- since the creation of the Congressional budget process -- has the House failed to pass a budget, failed to propose a budget then deemed the non-existent budget as passed as a means to avoid a direct, recorded vote on a budget, but still allow Congress to spend taxpayer money.

House Budget Committee Ranking Member Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) warned this was the green light for Democrats to continue their out-of-control spending virtually unchecked.

“Facing a record deficit and a tidal wave of debt, House Democrats decided it was politically inconvenient to put forward a budget and account for their fiscal recklessness. With no priorities and no restraints, the spending, taxing, and borrowing will continue unchecked for the coming fiscal year,” Ryan said. “The so-called ‘budget enforcement resolution’ enforces no budget, but instead provides a green light for the Appropriators to continue spending, exacerbating our looming fiscal crisis.”

I seriously expect them to start ‘deeming as elected’ those officials that don’t win in November.

The EPA is on a power grab also, shutting down our energy. It is pervasive corruption. Unchecked will only end our quality and way of life.

DEEM ON
With apologies to AeroSmith

Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn’t that the way
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it’s everybody’s sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life
Is in books’ written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
From sages
You know it’s true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away, yeah

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

DEEM On DEEM On DEEM On
DEEM until the DEEM come true
DEEM On DEEM On DEEM On
DEEM until your DEEM comes true
DEEM On DEEM On DEEM On
DEEM On DEEM On
DEEM On DEEM On

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away...

I hereby “Deem” that my 2010 taxes have been paid.

If I increase my exemptions to a level where my withholding approaches 0 ...

and next April 15th, send the IRS a voided check made out to F Off ... with an explanation on the memo line that I've deemed your taxes paid

... I'll go to jail.

If a million or so people do this ... what happens then?

Seems like the rest of the party has been taken over by Obama Marxist progressives.

Connie Hair’s phrasing might be a little tangled, perhaps. Didn’t Speaker “My principles are firm as April ice” Gingrich walk part of the way down the same path in the 90s? Something about not voting in the House until after elections?

Yes it is. The democrats are fast becoming out-in-the-open dictatorial fascists.

215+210=425

There are 435 members of congress.

Who are the 10 congresscritters that didn’t vote on something this important to the American people?

Disabled, hung over, on lucrative foreign junkets, a myriad of reasons.
