Presidents and leaders of Congress on Friday paid tribute to Sen. Robert C. Byrd, whom they said revered the U.S. Constitution, cherished the U.S. Senate, but most of all, loved his home state of West Virginia.

You should have been exposed to the local coverage. Barf inducing to say the least. One Pittsburgh channel said that ‘there was some controversy over his involvement with a racist organization’. I guess ‘KKK’ was too repetitive for the reporter.
