Blame game could 'boomerang' on Obama, strategist says

When signs of a severe economic downfall emerged more than two years ago, then-candidate Barack Obama was quick to point a finger at the man he hoped to replace.

Seventeen months into his administration, the message is often the same, and Republicans say it's time for him to drop the Bush bashing and take ownership of the problem.

"Nothing makes a president look weaker than pointing the finger at past administrations," said Republican strategist Ron Bonjean. "By blaming somebody, it looks like you are playing politics and people just want jobs. They don't care about whose fault it is. Playing the blame game only boomerangs on yourself."

Democrats controlled Congress in the last two years of the Bush administration and have controlled both the White House and Congress for a year and a half ...

Democratic strategist Julian Epstein said Obama needs to make the argument that the economy is on the climb and the stimulus has worked.

"The message has got to be optimistic and positive...

The White House needs to go on a confidence campaign and perhaps take a page from President Reagan's playbook, Epstein said.

"He really needs to spell out how we are coming back and it's morning in America again," he said.

It could especially boomerang if things get worse, which is what I think is happening.

“Democratic strategist Julian Epstein said Obama needs to make the argument that the economy is on the climb and the stimulus has worked.”

:::::::::::::::::

Which, of course, is a BALD-ASS LIE, not an argument. But that is the normal DemoRAT “strategy”. Well Hitler had Goebbels too, and it worked for a while as well.

Funny how he wanted the job so much and PROMISED to "create" jobs and "bring back the economy"

Yet, all he can do is blame others. The only jobs that are being created are govt. jobs, guaranteed NOT to go away.

What a pathetic excuse for a president.

People want redistribution of wealth... that’s why no one is squeeling about Obamas performance.

Once they figure out and link the destruction of small business to them not having jobs, then it might make a difference.

I the meanwhile, due to the uncertainty of the marxist, business needs confidence, not platitudes from a confidence man in the White House.

Its really difficult to convince people things are turning around when they or someone they know is unemployed. You can play with the numbers all you want but until people get hired for real jobs, not 2 months of census work, they will see through the lies.

Nope.

Because they can't.

"Democratic strategist Julian Epstein said Obama needs to make the argument that the economy is on the climb and the stimulus has worked."

In other words... LIE!

Democrats are now in their 4th year of complete control of Congress. I guess that fact would be too much for the Republicans to point out!???

"What a pathetic excuse for a president."

That's because, in part, he's a spineless wuss. Just like ole Jimmuh before him.

The left’s only game plan is to point fingers and blame.

They still blame Reagan for the rise AIDS and federal deficits yet refuse to acknowledge the REAL blame should be assigned to the reflection they see every morning in the mirror.

Exactly!!! I told friends of mine during the presidentail campaign that having McCain scream that Obama was going to "redistrube the wealth" will only drive people to vote of Obama.

What really pis@es me off if every damn Republican that is interviewed on a show and hit with it was Bush’s last 4 years and the fool does not remind that the Congress and House was democratic. This is so important that I’m ashamed to be a Republican.
