of an expenditure found on Page 14 of the Bill that will strip Texas State Sovereignty, as protected by the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. SJL may be full of hors__it, but the 14th does NOT affect State sovereignty.

...stipulating that Texas must spend, in the future, no less than the highly stimulus-inflated dollar figure to be spent in 2011.From Directive 10-289 in Atlas Shrugged:
6. All business establishments will produce the same amount every year as they did in the baseline known as the Yardstick Year, to be enforced by the Unification Board.
7. All citizens must purchase the same amount of goods every year as they did in the Yardstick Year, to be enforced by the Unification Board.

They are sure trying either secession or outright rebellion. So far they have:
Moved BAE military truck manufacturing from Sealy to Wisconsin. Union payoff
Turned NASA into a muslim outreach program.
Ignore the mexican border while the northern mexican states are in control of a dangerous narco army.
Offshore drilling being tied up in the courts will put thousands of prople out of work in TX and LA.
Medical industry takeover will severly affect MD Anderson cancer center. MD Anderson attracts patients from all over the world.
This is being done on purpose. obama is president of those who voted for him and no one else.

The answer for Texas, and the other 49 (or is it 57) States.
Keep 100% of the taxes collected for schools.
What is the point of sending billions to Washington , then Washington sends some of it back.
All it does is feed a federal bureaucracy.

Don’t Mess With Texas! (especially if you are dumber than lint.) I had the great fortune once to ask her to her face if our flag was still flying on Mars—LOL!

In a discussion that led to my libinlaw making the (often not stated) argument that those in elected office are smarter and know better than the masses,
I asked her if she’d heard of SJL or Cynthia McKinney or Maxine Waters...
nope, hadn’t heard of them.

SJL may be full of hors__it, but the 14th does NOT affect State soverignty. I saw that and thought it an odd cite as well ... as far as I understand, no amendment has anything to do with protecting a State's sovereignty, the only thing specifically enumerated that comes close is Article IV, Section 3:
The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.

Today, Cspan revealed a rather contained argument between CongressWOMAN Sheils Jackson Lee (thank you, Michael Berry) and Congressman John Culberson (Bless You!) of an expenditure found on Page 14 of the Bill that will strip Texas State Sovereignty, as protected by the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. Page 14 gives the Federal Government Control over the money spent on education in Texas, stipulating that Texas must spend, in the future, no less than the highly stimulus-inflated dollar figure to be spent in 2011. The result to Texans? A substantial increase of taxes and extreme economic hardship for the State. When Rep. Culberson brought this to her attention, several times, mind you, CongressWOMAN Lee said that she fully supports the wording and content of that particular clause as it is supported by forty plus school districts. This on the heals of the conservative victory of what will be taught in our schools. Do you suppose there is a correlation here? I also do not see this as "stripping Texas' State Sovereignty" so much as it is yet another unfunded mandate. This has been done ad nauseum to all the states, not just Texas, why is this particular being singled out as a sleight-of-hand maneuver?
