I have heard he has a image of a popular, relative conservative dem. Of course, when it comes to give the decisive vote on ObamaCare or something like that, he no doubt would be a reliable lib vote.

Anybody know how good pickup chances GOP has in WV?

He should be painted as somebody who will turn liberal in DC, just like 100% of other so called blue dog dems. "Dem will always betrays you".

I hope there is a solid conservative with a backbone in WV considering this.

Manchin is a socially conservative union democrat. On economic issues he would definitely be in the pocket of the Unions and would vote accordingly. However, he’d probably be a marked improvement over Byrd on social issues. The bigger problem would be that he will be a vote for a RAT majority leader.

Hmmm.

These two paragraphs contradict each other.

Are you gonna run or not, Joe?

I knew Joe Manchin years ago when he was a state senator. He’s a pretty solid guy.

But I suspect you may be right about what will happen when he tastes the Washington water.

Machin won re-election in 2008 with almost 70% of the vote. I'd say not very good.

No. WV is still 40 years behind the rest of America.

Manchin will run and will win. And he will run further to the right of the only Republican elected to congress in the whole state. He will then vote further to the left of any vote Byrd ever considered. And no Democrat in WV will be the wiser. WV is a no win no chance, never in 100 years mission impossible losing gambit.

Scott Brown won in MA because he was far enough to the left to get Dems to vote for him. In WV, 75% of the Dems are to the right of GW Bush on every issue and seemed to have missed the entire 70’s, 80’s and 90’s take over by the far left.

Manchin will be 100% pro NRA and get their endorsement.

Manchin will be 100% pro Life and get the State and National RTL endorsement.

Manchin will be 100% for natural marriage and against sodomy and get the family policy center’s endorsement.

Manchin will then destroy his left of center moderate squishy RINO challenger 70 / 30 and win a lifetime seat in the Senate.

Manchin will then vote 100% against every group who supported him 100% of the time and earn an F from the NRA, a zero from RTL and the scorn of pro family groups nationwide.

But, none of this will change the results or the next election either.

This is WV, where the Liberals just flat out LIE and get reelected again and again, while WV remains dead last behind Porto Rico in some stats.
