Swipe your driver's license, look into the camera, blow into the breath sensor and - voila! - you have permission to buy a bottle of wine from a vending machine.
Pennsylvania, which has some of the most Byzantine liquor laws in the nation, recently introduced the country's first wine "kiosks." If the machines are successful in their test run inside two grocery stores, the state Liquor Control Board could place the high-tech alcohol automats in about 100 others.

Oh yeah what could go wrong?
.."if you thought those ATM snatching, car towing, rodeo style hijackings were something ..you ain't seen nothing yet"
Oh yeah, I recall most military units I was at had beer in the vending machines. Especially small Coast Guard units. I recall many calls to Station Southwest Harbor, Maine, draining that sucker of Budweiser, then working on the michelob, then whatever the hell was left. Thre guys with ID's went to the bars, we younger ones stayed behind and got loaded much more cheaply, and with a shorter walk back to the ship.
Pennsylvania is so backwards. They need to get rid of the state stores which stock the wines that some moron decides they will stock. You can’t order a case of your favorite wine from California and get it shipped in. And you can’t buy beer in less than a case. Totally ridiculous.
Ahll beth you didh!
I like it, I like it!!!!
Why can’t they use similar technology to bring back cigarette vending machines?
TX doesn't have the state run stores, but I can't have a chocolate liqueur that is not carried anywhere in TX shipped to me here. I have to drive a thousand miles to another state to purchase the product.
Yep I remember those - the good old days!
What exactly is a “Byzantine” liquor law?
LOL...I remember beer machines on the base I lived on as a kid. We used to try (with no success) to stick our arms inside to get them...
If your favorite's on this list you can get it shipped.
