Man, you just had to go and ruin a perfectly good thread...Crap!!!
;-)
Yer a sick puppy!
I had a poster of that on my wall as a kid 30 years ago! I hung it for 2-3 years.
I’ll hold yer beer.............
At this point, we need to remind ourselves what the Founding Fathers would have said:
“All cats are gray in the dark.” - Benjamin Franklin
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess you WEREN’T speaking about the pic on Post #30?
The chick in #30 is HOT......
I'd HAVE to hit that.
My adolescent years were great. Between Lynda and Olivia...sigh
2008
She's 58, still a beautiful woman.
Fire escape.
Yep! Another one of my heartthrobs.
Because the men still have to go to work every day, while the girls have ..... "alternatives"?
This is a liberal cabal at work -- they brag about it to each other, how they're introducing homosexual and other deviant heroes to their work and pitching politically loaded story lines at the kids.
It's organized. Gramsci's tools at work.
are those crosses and the US Constitution that the gay Captain Freedom is standing on there?
This is insane ... we were fighting about Xanadu the other day and how zombies may have saved that film. :-).
I also saw a few ONJ performances on You Tube. Not only was she was friggin’ gorgeous, she could *sing*. The last pop singer I ever heard with talent (and I want to stress pop ... as in top 40) was Mariah Carey before she fell into the ghetto. That would have been, what, the early 90s? I am sure there have been some decent singers since then, but nothing like those two.
Olivia IS STILL TOTALLY HOT.
I've recently, in the last month, also discovered her videos on YouTube. My favorite is from a couple of years ago, where she at the Hans Christian Anderson performing Xanadu...Be still my heart. That smile still gets me.
Unfortunately pictures of her in these later years fail to capture the radiant smile she once had. Even for as great as this pic, she's looking tired and worn from life, compared to her 30's.
Strange ... I kinda got back into her music recently as well. An ex of mine from a LONG time ago (well, if you consider 1988 a long time ago) used to play “I Honestly Love You” again and again (on vinyl mind you) and I instantly had to hate ONJ publicly (being a headbagner, well, we had rules ;-) ). While I hate “Grease”, it is still ok to catch her parts :-). I had to admit that I loved her voice even back then, but that would have been grounds for execution. All voices had to be compared to Lemmy from Motorhead :-) ... if the voice resemble him, well, they were worthless ;-).
Now, flashforward to late 2009 ... I hear Xanadu on some station playing “the oldies” and I could not get the damn song out of my head. I go and pick up some of her music. Damn. Amazing talent (same goes for ELO with respect to catchy pop tunes, but that’s a whole other discussion). What’s really goddamn strange is that about 2 months later, that same ex girlfriend found me on Facebook ... she’s convinced I had some kind of lobotomy or something to do such a 180 when it comes to music :-). Still, it was great to hear from her ... brings back awesome memories.
I had heard that ONJ battled breast cancer ... that would kill some of that smile. I think she also lost a husband that was found somewhere in the past 10 years (I forget those details). She is still amazing looking. I’ll have to dig up some of her more recent performances.
I also never realized most of her fame came in her late 20s / early 30s (worldwide I guess ... or just in the USA?). I don’t think that happens anymore. It seems that the only pop “vocalists” that make it anymore are handpicked by Disney at the age of 11 or rip off Marilyn Manson despite having some mythical “Classical music training” (I seriously despise losers like “Lady GaGa” and all of this other garbage released to the mainstream anymore).
Obligatory conservative commentary .... you know ONJ had to be at least leaning towards the right. Look at her. She still looks like the eternal optimist.
Lynda Carter seemed to have lost it when her looks went. No botox or facelift is going to help that seawitch. Hatred makes one age rather quickly. I’ve seen her in a few interviews and she turns instant angry when discussing politics (she HATED Sarah Palin ... not disliked .... HATED ... if you ever want to see PDS in action, well, if in the 1,000,000:1 chance you bump into Ms. Carter, just say the name “Palin” ... she goes berzerk).
At least we have her “normal” years on Wonder Woman reruns ;-). Her only talent was filling out that costume :-). Not a bad one, but that kind of stuff doesn’t last forever :-).
When I was 19 I had a '76 Camaro, BFG-RTA 70's all around, chevy 350 slightly modified, headered dual glass pack exhaust. Guys wanted it, the girls wanted to go for a ride in it.
Often times I had ONJ or Anne Murray playing. Most of the time though it was Journey or Def Leppard or AC/DC.
Don't know how often people would look through my tape case and look at me like I had a horn growing from my forhead. Olivia-AC/DC-Anne Murray-Judas Priest-Barbara Mandrell-Def Leppard-Ricky Scaggs-Journey
Most people saw the out going, somewhat wound up, brash, big guy. They didn't see the quiet side often. Todays a little different. Not so much rock. Mostly country followed by smooth jazz.
Olivia is still gorgeous. Yeah she had breast cancer. Went through a divorce. A long time boyfriend/ fiance' suddenly went missing and presumed dead-recently reports of him being spotted. Bankrupt business venture.
Yeah she's had some hard stuff.
As far as right leaning-I'm not sure- she's done a number of "pride" events.
