Hatch calls Kagan filibuster 'dirty thing to do'

By Eric Zimmermann - 07/01/10 12:19 PM ET

A Republican filibuster of Elena Kagan would be "an unheard of, dirty thing to do," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday.

Hatch, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told ABC News's "Topline" today that his party won't prevent an up-or-down vote on Obama's SCOTUS nominee.

"Republicans aren't going to filibuster her," he said.

Hatch is a major part of the problem with the republican party.I would love to see him lose his seat.

Yes, a President has a right to nominate justices of his choosing.

What Presidents do NOT have a right to do is nominate justices who are all wee weed up and want to pee on the Constitution. She is NOT qualified by reason of her philosophical outlook. The Senate is not obligated to confirm just because the President nominates.

Hatch, McCain, McConnell and others need to have a reality check. Don't they know a tiny handful of Communist/Fascist,Socialists are intent on tearing down this country and using the Constitution to light the fire?

Nope! Obviously, they don't.

No. Kagan must be filibustered. Borking was dirty, butthanks to the 'Rats Borking is now in play. Sadly, RINOs like Hatch are gutless in defense of the Founding Principles.

Furthermore, after November there needs to be a complete dismantling of the communist scaffolding erected by Obama/Pelosi/Reid.

The Dems, including Obama, filibustered both Justices Roberts and Alito. The filibusters were both defeated.

Kagan should not only be filibustered, she should be disbarred for the fraud she perpetrated upon the Supreme Court regarding partial birth abortion. Hatch disgusts me.

Orrin, Orrin, Orrin — was it a “clean” thing to do when your dear friend, Teddy Kennedy, filibustered and repudiated and slandered Judge Bork and Justice Thomas?

Yup. Honorable people of Utah - kick this stinking RINO scum to the curb like you did to Bob Bennett.

Bennett was talking up Harry Reid’s chances in Nov. They are all really just Democrats like McCain and Graham-nesty.

I say BORK her!

I second that, if you're going to go jelly-spine on this total marxist piece of trash....what the hell are you clowns good for? The Supreme Court is the last firewall against a totalitarian state....in our history...blood has been shed for less.

(and now back to regularly scheduled programing(literally)...the latest on Lindsey Lohan and Lebron James)

....what a moronic/weak country this has become.

THIS.

THIS is exactly why we need Rand Paul in the US Senate. Some of you call the Paulites crazy... maybe so, but Crazy enough to STOP this kind of madness!!

Not one of them now is deserving of reelection. ZERO. Spineless. Damnable the whole lot with no remnant.

YES THEY KNOW!!

Don’t YOU know that there is not ONE Conservative in the entire US Senate. Zero. NO ONE WILL Do this. It only takes one to make the others uncomfortable or unable to vote to END the filibusterer. And we do NOT have one. All of them, the entire GOP in the entire US Senate is to the far left of the party and some of them to the center of the Democrats.
