Obama lays into Bush again on economy
Washington Times ^ | 7/8/2010 | Kara Rowland

Posted on 07/10/2010 1:00:42 PM PDT by Qbert

President Obama on Thursday labeled the recession a result of "a decade of irresponsibility" that he inherited, continuing his strategy of trying to frame this fall's congressional elections as a choice between Bush-era policies and his own.

"For the better part of 10 years, folks faced stagnant incomes, skyrocketing health care costs and tuition bills, and declining economic security," Mr. Obama said in a speech at a Kansas City, Mo., electric vehicle plant. "It was in the middle of this crisis that my administration walked through the door."

Though unemployment still hovers just below 10 percent, Mr. Obama said his policies -- including the $862 billion stimulus bill and small business tax breaks -- have moved the nation "in the right direction" and he touted the fact that the economy has added private-sector jobs for the last six months.

When Bush was President he never once blamed Bill Clinton for many congressional follies during the Clinton years....he excepted the job and did the best he could...some things better than others. However, what President Bush was and what Obama is, are worlds apart in leadership and love of country.

"It was in the middle of this crisis that my administration walked through the door."

Then how'd you manage to make it worse? Nurses who started their 2 year degree programs in '08, amidst a nursing shortage of such dimensions, they were assured they'd "never have to look for a job, the jobs will look for you," are now graduated with absolutely no prospects. Now where did those jobs go? At least around here, there have been no hospital downsizings, etc. Obviously, everybody in healthcare is planning for a long depression.

Liberals can never lead. They whine, lie, and blame their predecessors or political opponents.

>>>”For the better part of 10 years, folks faced stagnant incomes, skyrocketing health care costs and tuition bills, and declining economic security,” <<<<

Gee I didnt know health care and tuition had gone down.’’He didnt mention at what schools did he? How about those health care bills that are going to get out of this world under his new bill, with more taxes to boot.

Anyone who would listen to this fool and believe him is a retard. I know we dont like to use that word any more but it perfectly describes anyone who listens to this fool and believes him.

That is such a total lie. I don’t think most people will fall for it. They know there was lots of work, especially here in FL, five years ago.

Real Obamabots will believe it, but nothing will separate them from the messiah anyway, so they are lost causes.

I hear you my FRiend.

At least though, during the Depression, there was some semblance of patriotism and/or the Judeo-Christian ethic in the Nation.

And the people had a sense of History and knew their Civics and their Rights.

Even though we have better technology now, I think we are in worse shape.

for 7.5 years under bush the economy was JUST FINE

It was only when the democraps took over congress, and started talking the economy into the tank, and convincing stupid stupid W to go along with their bank bailout and stimulous plan (SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION) that the economy really tanked

HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD THEM TO SHOVE IT - WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION

While you’re in KC, Obama, why don’t you check to see what your fellow “progressives” have done to the public school system there?

So what’s the problem, Ears? Just borrow three or four trillion dollars more that we don’t have - that ought to do the trick, right? After all, a year ago you promised us unemployment wouldn’t top 8% if we adopted your economic policies.

The economy went south when democrats took over the house and senate in 2006

that’s a fact

congress appropriates all money that is spent...NOT the president

that’s a fact

the democrats have controlled either or both appropriations and approval (congress and presidency) since 2006

that’s a fact

before the democratic congressional recession of 2007, the Bush unemployment rate was at 5%. after 4 years of democratic money control and a democratic presidency, the unemployment rate is 10%

that’s a fact

since the democrat

Sorry Barry, you own this economy, inaction on the oil spill, etc. lock, stock and barrel (no puns intended). Even your kool aid drinkers are figuring it out.

They don't teach economics at Harvard Law. (what were his grades anyway?)

They don't teach economics in community organizer school. (where is that school?)

They don't teach economics in Black Liberation Theology churches.

Deflection from the American voters looking at Jack Squat Barry’s wrecking of the US economy......pass it on to all you know....being it is quite self-evident what Jack Squat is and has been attempting to do by continuously refering to and blaming the previous administration....

Less than 2 years into his lamearse, idiot-ridden presidency and Jack Squat has spent more and wrecked more havoc on the US economy than ANY administration in US history other than FDR....and far more than what the Bush adminstration could have or did do in 8 YEARS! Again, pass it on. =.=

If he keeps this up, what most voters will be reminded of is how much better the economy was under Bush.

Lurk at DU...they aren’t too happy with the economy either. (Of course Keynesian economics is a little too conservative for most of them. They would have preferred a little more Chavez.)

I frankly hope he continues doing this until November.
