64 die in bomb attacks in Uganda during World Cup By MAX DELANY and JASON STRAZIUSO , 07.11.10, 10:21 PM EDT

KAMPALA, Uganda -- In simultaneous bombings bearing the hallmarks of international terrorists, two explosions ripped through crowds watching the World Cup final in two places in Uganda's capital late Sunday, killing 64 people, police said. Americans were among the casualties.

The deadliest attack occurred at a rugby club as people watched the game between Spain and the Netherlands on a large-screen TV outdoors. The second blast took place at an Ethiopian restaurant, where at least three Americans were wounded.

What’s the Heritage number on foiled terrorist attacks in the U.S. since Sept. 11th, 2001? 28?

It probably is US American right wing-gers. They’re well known for hating soccer.

Sure, and you can also blame the 1,400 years of Islamic terrorism since the 7th Century on Israel, too, along with continental drift and the demise of the Dinosaurs.

Very sad. Barbarians.

How can this still be going on, now that the world is healing under the wise and gentle leadership of Obama?

From

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/uganda/7885111/Al-Shabaab-Islamists-suspected-in-deadly-Ugandan-World-Cup-bombings.html

An American aid worker was among those killed and US President Barack Obama, condemning what he called deplorable and cowardly attacks, said Washington was ready to help Uganda in hunting down those responsible.

Here's betting that has them trembling in their boots...

Looks like Africa will be the hotspot for Islamic terrorists for the rest of this year.

The Somali terrorists have been busy little bees exporting Jihad to Nigeria, Ghana, and now Uganda.

Where is the opposition? Who will stop them in Africa, the dark continent...still dark as regards law enforcement and security measures.

Hope they are beefing up the guard at our African embassies.

"A Somali Islamist militant movement on Monday claimed responsibility for a trio of bombings that killed at least 74 people Sunday at two venues in the Ugandan capital where crowds had gathered to watch the World Cup final."

>>”I wonder if this terrorism had anything to do with the growing ties between Uganda and Israel.”

No, no,no. This is clearly the result of our (US) illegal and immoral occupation of the Sacred Soil of Uganda; which we all know was done to steal their OIL.

We must immediately bring our troops home from Uganda. Every time our Air Force wantonly bombs a Ugandan village, or a SEAL battalion massacres a Ugandan wedding party, it merely is used as a recruiting tool for Somalia terrorists.

</end deep, bitter, sarcasm>

That (Nate Henn) sounds like one incredible young man. The world is much darker with his murder.

It sure sounds like he was to me.

Moose4, on the North Carolina forum here, said he knew him through a church connection.

The Henn family has experienced even MORE trauma today, sad to say.

Mr. Henn's brother was involved in a small plane crash in Chapel Hill, NC in which one person was killed.
From WRAL:

"Kyle Henn was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill for treatment, according to his sister. She said a friend of the company Kyle Henn works for offered the private flight to the Triangle."

Thanks to krb for posting the link on the NC Forum.
