Three months ago, everyone was jubilant: The economy was headed for a v-shaped recovery, job growth was kicking in, and consumers were about to start spending, spending, spending again.
But now, suddenly, everyone thinks the economy is headed back into the tank.
Aside from noting the obvious--when it comes to economics, the consensus is usually wrong--it's worth reviewing why everyone has suddenly become so pessimistic again.

I never thought the economy was headed in the right direction, ever so often you have what is it called demand for durable goods, sometimes you just have to buy a refrigerator, like now, i am going to buy a freezer next week other one broke down

The “recovery” was all artificial. Big dollars in stimulus projects that are no longer being given out. The cash for clunkers program ending. The tax rebate for home buyers ending (talk to anyone in real estate-the market has completely died as anyone who was going to buy already did so)...AND NOW HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS-750,000 temp workers for the census begin to get let go in 3 weeks.

Uh no. None of this is true. All that was happening is that liberals were lying again by talking about "America's Back" (see Newsweak cover) and "Recovery Summer" - None of which are happening because democraps are incompetent and ruining the economy.
Once you get beyond buying the basics (food, clothing, gasoline, etc) what is the reason to buy?
Replacement activity is a once in a decade activity. That isn't going to move the market. See Circuit City's collapse when Wal-Mart stays open.
Once “the consensus” decides something, true or false, things aren't going to change until the consensus changes.
The economic pace driven by “Keeping up with the Jones'"; has been replaced with fear of government activity and no amount of happy noise is going to change that in the near term and mid term future.
The agenda of the obastard people is that they know their days are numbered, they aren’t going to have another chance like this for ages to come and they are wrecking as much as they can while they can to make the mess impossible to clean-up.
I looked at the 9/12 rally pictures last night...what a crowd! Didn’t have a shred of impact on the agenda. It may have shown some that they are not alone but that is about all.

Employment has been heading for the tank since Clinton made trade deals with China and Bush made them a permanent trading partner. Clinton boosted the economy with the dotcom era and Bush goosed it up with a war economy.
Perot heard the trade job sucking sound in 1992 and both parties are still deaf.
The answer is obvious. PRODUCE MORE - IMPORT LESS
The “economy” is straining at the bit to grow like gangbusters , but it’ll continue to be held back by businesspeople terrified of this administration and it’s “make the rules and punishment up as you go along” approach to private sector.
Keynesian economics fails every time it is tried.
