You can only be “disappointed” if you expected anything different from a pro-abortion socialist.

We’re talking Massachusetts here. Just the fact that a Republican won is a miracle. We have to take our victories where we can get them. Vast improvement over The Swimmer and that woman he ran against.

he is not a great dissappointment we never expected much, we didnt get much. I paid for that one vote, I got it.

Ironically, Brown's only hope for re-election was solidifying the base that was responsible for his election in the first place. And now that he's thrown that base under the bus in the inexcusably naive belief that going "moderate" would bring him enough Democrats to make up for the "oh-well, may-as-well-stay-at-home" conservative votes he just tossed away on this vote and others, he's toast.

Disappointing? This isn’t even surprising.

Brown has ALWAYS been a liberal.

It's only disappointing if you expected him to be a Conservative.

Its funny to watch FR sometimes. Back when he ran it was no secret that he was a moderate but everybody loved him. He was the last great hope. I remember all the Scott Brown for president threads while the people from Mass. were saying he is a moderate, no one wanted to hear it. Now he governs as everyone was told he would and everyone is pissed at him. Throw the bum out! LOL

“...when out of staters do not send him campaign money the Democrats in mass. will make him a one termer.”

Very well stated. It’s a wonder Brown himself doesn’t realize that he owes MUCH of his success in winning that election to the non-Masstards who gave him campaign money, and that the ONLY reason they sent him money was because of his conservative claims.

He may be thinking that once he proves himself a RINO, the commie-libs will keep reelecting him. But a farther-left whacko with a D behind his name can knock him off, and he’ll deserve it!

Certainly better than the previous holder of the seat he won, but this should be cautionary for all who champion a return to constitutional principles--TEA Partiers and others.

America is at a crossroads today. Only a return to the "path" laid out by Jefferson's First Inaugural will, in his words, lead to "peace, liberty and safety."

On the other hand, all lovers of liberty should band together to re-educate those who, like Brown, win seats in either the Congress or the Senate. Sniping at their missteps and becoming harsh critics will not help our efforts. Instead, they should be won over by the soundness of our arguments on behalf of liberty for future generations, reminding them that their actions will be judged by those generations more harshly than by ours.

I have to agree with the comments previously expressed in this thread. Scott Brown is a disappointment to conservatives but then, no one paying attention really expected him to be much better than a RINO. He’s from Massachusetts, y’know. At least his election helped shift some political movement to the right, as people realized that if a Republican, even a ‘moderate’, could beat the ‘machine’ Democrat running for ‘Ted Kennedy’s (senate) seat’ in Marxist Massachusetts, talk of the GOP being ‘dead’ was BS and the Democrats were going to be vulnerable...and that was over a year ago!

You can’t “re-educate” people like Scott Brown. They don’t pay any attention to what you think.

Scott Brown is a Republican from Massachusetts. It is what it is.

I’d rather have a guy from Mass voting with us 70% of time than against us 100% of time like Kerry or Coakley would have.

Now if he were from South Carolina and pulling this sh*t, that’d be a different story.

It’s a whole lot easier to just elect actual conservatives then try to “re-educate” liberals. Heck, even the commies gave up on re-education after a while and just imprisoned or killed the dissidents.

With much respect for your opinion on this matter, there are examples of many men, such as Michael Novak and David Horowitz, for example, who were former liberal thinkers who were "mugged by reality" and became outspoken advocates for the founding ideas and principles.

Perhaps a man like Scott Brown, witnessing the Democrats' in the Senate, and the destruction of America first hand by this Congress and Administration, could be convinced that the Founders' way is the only way--if he, like Congressman Davey Crockett, ("Not Yours to Give") encountered a persuasive argument to the contrary.

Just sayin'--it's certainly better than throwing him overboard for making this huge mistake.

Scott Brown is a Republican from Massachusetts. It is what it is.

Why do you say that?

Brown's opponent portrayed him as a conservative. The media portrayed him as a conservative. His supporters portrayed him as a conservative. And, despite being portrayed as a conservative, he won by 5 points. The only thing that tells me is that a REAL conservative could have won and if a conservative can win in Massachusetts they can win anywhere.

The Republican mantra: “Our liberals aren’t as bad as their liberals!”
