CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S Virgin Islands A 14-year-old Puerto Rican tourist was killed in front of her horrified family when she was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight attributed to warring gangs on the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Gov. John deJongh identified the slain tourist as Lizmarie Perez Chapparro from Puerto Rico, who was struck by a bullet as she rode with her relatives on a packed "safari bus" that ferries tourists across the three-island territory.
The girl and her family arrived in St. Thomas aboard the Carnival Victory, a Carnival Cruise Line ship that departed Puerto Rico's capital of San Juan on Sunday. Another cruise ship passenger sustained a minor injury during the shootout.

DOJ and Holder assets murderering Americans?
If you want to be victimized/brutalized, a week on Tortola ought to satisfy.
And of course it’s the fault of the GUNS!!! The drug dealers doing the shooting were simply innocent VICTIMS of their evil weapons. It’s obviously time to declare all guns illegal and confiscate weapons from law abiding residents. After all, the thugs might be in DANGER with an armed public in their way!!
It seems that anyplace with a large enough black population is an unsafe place.

We used to take a family vacation to St. Thomas every Christmas. We began to feel unsafe and decided who needed it. We actually thought St. Croix was even worse.
Detroit with better weather.
I’ve been on the same ship (Carnival Victory) to St. Thomas, and was there two other times as well. I’ve never felt unsafe either.
This is the scene Obama wants to bring home to us. Unchecked thuggery & drug gang warfare in the streets.
Another day, another fatal shooting in a “gun-free zone”. Lie-berals never learn
SICK.......................................
I imagine the government of Saint Thomas will come down on the gangs like lightning. Tourism is the life-blood of the islands, and anything that diminishes that will need to be nipped in the bud. They may have been allowed to do their business in times past, since tourists were never hurt, but this should change the scene entirely.
Sad. RIP.
The feds have been calling the national Guard from next door Puerto Rico for backup for some time now. This is a High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA).
But then again, the Caribbean has been a smugglers’ heaven through history and it is to this day.
