Gingrich hoping for 'dialogue' between NAACP, Tea Party

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) tweeted Thursday morning that dialogue could lessen the growing tensions between the NAACP and the Tea Party movement.

Those tensions have grown since Tuesday, when delegates to the NAACP convention in Kansas City approved a resolution that calls on “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”

It refers specifically to instances where Tea Partiers yelled racial slurs at black members of Congress while protesting the healthcare overhaul in March.

Since the vote, Tea Party leaders have leveled similar accusations back at the NAACP.

While fielding criticism from CNN political analyst Ronald Martin on Wednesday, Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams said that "racists have their own movement. It's called the NAACP."

Gingrich, via Twitter, took a different tone:

The naacp has opened up a wonderful opportunity for the tea party movement. Local tea party leaders across america should reach out

If tea party leaders contact local naacp chapters and offer to cohost local townhalll meetings a wonderful dialogue could begin

Newt STFU. The time for talking has passed. The NAAACP is racist and belligerent - history will show they started what is coming.

My boot wants a dialouge with Newt’s behind.

STHU, Newt. Just go sit on a couch with your butt buddy Pelosi and shut up.

Hey Newt, go have a dialogue with your pal Dede Scozzafava.
Would Gingrich have had a dialogue with Hitler's Nazi Party too?

Why the Hell is our side always the one to “reach out”, to “seek a dialogue”, and to “try to find common ground” with the other side?

As long as that dialogue includes telling the naalcp to take a long walk off a short pier, I’m all for it.

The dialog shouldn't "include" telling them to take a long walk off a short pier. That should be the whole dialog. Period.

Newt doesn’t seem to understand that the NAACP is primarily a progressive group. Such groups need to be dismantled and/or discredited to where the media no longer asks their opinion on anything.

Yep. If they don’t constantly scream “Racist! Racist!” they are out of business. The Marxists in the NAACP have no interest in the truth.

It refers specifically to instances where Tea Partiers yelled racial slurs at black members of Congress while protesting the healthcare overhaul in March.

Okay, well since that didn't happen, the *dialog* unnecessary.

How does a dialog occur between an established organization, with leaders, pre-arranged meetings, etc., and a bunch of ordinary Americans who gather together at random spots all over the country at sporadic points on the calendar, nothing set, no one *in charge* anyway??

Newt just solicited money from me via "American Solutions". Amy Levin asked me for a couple hundred bucks to support Newt's vision for a new America. So I tossed them a hundred bucks that I knew was money in the sewer. Newt is a total ass.

Just like the late 60s and early 70s. We let marxist criminals like william ayers slither away into the shadows when they should have gone to prison forever. Newt - thinking is why they’re a problem today.
