As many as 70 House seats are in play this election cycle, DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen said Thursday as he sought to downplay a rift between House Dem leaders and the WH.
"It's between 60 and 70 seats in play. That includes Democrats and Republican seats in play," Van Hollen said on MSNBC Thursday morning, maintaining the midterms will be a choice between Dems and GOPers.(snip)
Van Hollen maintained that Dems still have a few targets this Nov., pointing to seats being vacated by Reps. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Mike Castle (R-DE). He also cited seats held by Reps. Charles Djou (R-HI) and Charlie Dent (R-PA) as prime Dem targets.

Since what has been going on in this nation in the past couple of years would have been rejected by fiction publishers as too unbelievable just a few years ago, maybe we can hope for another unbelievable twist, such as the bulk of Democrats suddenly getting consciences and seeing themselves for what they are and committing mass suicide.
Sounds like a horrific thought on the surface, but IMO it's far less horrific than what they're doing to the greatest nation in human history.

Seems some aren’t too worried about it, just they passed the monstrosity ‘financial bill’ today...
As Dodd says, it will take years to find out what’s in it.

"It's between 60 and 70 seats in play ..." ... Van Hollen maintained that Dems still have a few targets this Nov., pointing to seats being vacated by Reps. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Mike Castle (R-DE). Joseph Cao (R-LA), who was elected in an overwhelmingly Democratic House district after Rep. William Jefferson (D-Federal Prison) was caught with $90,000 in marked FBI bribe money in his freezer.
So that's 70 of yours, and five of ours. I can live with that.

For the interested, here is a list of seats (some 90 or so) that are key to winning back the House. There are some Republican seats on this list, but not very many. Those seats need to be defended. Ironically, Joseph Cao (R-LA-03) is in one of the bluest districts in the country, yet he is leading the potential Democrat primary candidates by a healthy margin at this point. Cao took over "Freezer Cash" William Jefferson's (D) seat.
