Obama's Financial 'Reform' Doesn't Fix Anything
Fox News ^ | July 15, 2010 | John R. Lott Jr.

The 2,319 page financial regulation bill that just passed Congress is filled with vague, complicated language.

Some language will weaken our financial system and make it less efficient.

Other language appears to mandate racial and gender employment quotas in dozens of Federal agencies.

In the name of making sure that there is not another financial crisis, the bill does nothing to address what caused the mortgage problems created by government regulations that forced banks to make risky loans that they didn't want to make.

It does nothing to rein in the $400 billion in losses created by government entities Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

What Democrats don't understand is how everyone from farmers to small and large companies use derivatives to decrease their risks. . . .

Yeah, well.

It will all be moot when the eligibility issue is finally settled, anyway.

If we have the sand not to let it die. Go, Joe Farah!

Every Federal agency needs to be privatized to root out the deadweight bureaucracies. Racial Quotas? WTF?

The Rats understand that small and medium businesses, and the great middle class resulting therefrom, is the strongest bastion against statism, and certainly not big business.

These massive regulatory structures have the effect of promoting an oligopoly of giant businesses which have huge legal and compliance departments which can keep the institution in compliance, more or less, with the endless mountains of regulations.

A partnership of big business and big government is a natural dynamic, and was a marked feature of fascist economies in Europe.

Smaller and more entrepreneurial firms will be most inhibited by the barriers to entry represented by the massive regulatory structure, which is one of the unstated objectives of the Rats.

Of course not. Those government agencies are criminal enterprises for democrat employment and responsible for the financial collapse.

Franklin Raines belongs in prison along with Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and a whole stream of nameless others. <{>

Obama and the Rats are Busy mending the Curtains while the House is Burning Down, Or if you prefer rearranging the Deck chairs while the Titanic is sinking.

Crooks are running the system. No surprise that they are writing laws to benefit crooks.

The latter. I know the ending and it comes quickly. I want him OUT of the WH while we still have a Republic to save.

“I want him OUT of the WH while we still have a Republic to save.”

I’m with you there.

If we are able to take the House and Defund this Monstrosity there may be reason for Hope.

We will still need to rely upon the Incoming Reps to have the Spine to do what is necessary.

Yes, you’re right. Our House Republicans have been excellent.

I hope we’re sending them plenty of like-minded excellent help and I think we are, judging by the candidates I’ve seen!

We’ll be working hard and serious here come September, and praying too!

Oh this thing will fix plenty alright. This just like the healthcare bill will be full of nuggets that will take the media about a month to find after it’s signed into law... After it’s too late.

Yes, it does fix something.

It feeds the liberal’s insatiable appetite for control.

It satisfies their goal of creating more government agencies and creating more government employees.

It helps them entrench diversity requirements in all aspects of government life.
